Hi, in this tutorial I am going to show you how to make a new Texture pack. Here is what you are going to need to be able to make your own texture pack:
winRAR
Clean Minecraft.jar
Editing Software
Not "Paint" but you can use PAINT.NET
So the first thing you want to do is go to your desktop and create a new folder. In this folder is where you are going to put your unfinished and finished folders and PNG files in. So what I do is make two folders inside of that folder named: "Finished" and "Unfinished". These folders are going to help you organize what you have edited and what you haven't edited. So open up your "Unfinished" folder. Now go to your minecraft.jar file. To get to this you are going to have to get to your ".minecraft" folder. If you don't know how to do this then folow these instructions:
Go to the "Start" menu.
Type in "run"
Go into "run" and type in "%appdata%" then go to Roaming.
There your ".minecraft" folder should be somewhere inside the "Roaming" folder. So once you find your .minecraft go to "bin" then open "minecraft/minecraft.jar" with winRAR. So here are the folders that you are going to copy into your "Unfinished" folder:
armor
art
gui
item
misc
mob
terrain
title
These are all of the folders that you are going to copy to your "Unfinished" folder. Now you are going to scroll all the way down to the bottom to find three PNG files. These files are:
pack
particles
terrain
Now once you do this you can go through all of the folders and PNG files and edit the ones you want. For an example I am only going to edit the dirt in Minecraft. Once you are done editing something move it to the "Finished" folder. Here is what my dirt looks like now:
You can edit anything you want to what ever you want!
Once you have edited everything you want you want to create a new "winRAR ZIP Archive" folder on your desktop and rename it to anything you want. Simply drag everything from the "Finished" folder into the winRAR file.
You have successfully created a new Minecraft Texture Pack!
