Hope to see your tutorial set soon! :biggrin.gif:

IB = Enter "Item" or "Block". If you have created the block/item. You need to put "mod_***", for example, I would put "mod_ObsidianCraft". NAME = Enter a block or item here, depends on what "IB" is. IB2 = If "NAME" is a block, this would be "blockID". If "NAME" is an item, this would be "shiftedIndex". DAMAGEVALUE = The damage value it will drop.
This will make the block Dirt, drop the item it drops with a damage value of 11.
Now the whole "BlockRedObsidian.java":
package net.minecraft.src;
import java.util.Random;
public class BlockRedObsidian extends Block
{
protected BlockRedObsidian(int i, int j)
{
super(i, j, Material.rock);
}
public int idDropped(int i, Random random)
{
return Item.dyePowder.shiftedIndex;
}
protected int damageDropped(int i)
{
return blockID != mod_ObsidianCraft.redObsidian.blockID ? 0 : 11;
}
}
Now the block Red Obsidian will drop Yellow Dye (Dye with a damage value of 11).
Here are all the blocks/items, it also includes damage values:

Again, I'll look into the Lapis lazuli ore block. :wink.gif:

I found it, but I don't have enough time to try editing it.
This is the code lapis lazuli uses.
public int quantityDropped(Random random)
{
return 4 + random.nextInt(5);
}
Just try to mess around with it.
I will be leaving, and coming back tomorrow night. :biggrin.gif:
I would not be able to answer any further questions, sorry, until I come back. :biggrin.gif:

Cool thank's the first number is standard drop and the second is the highest so
if my first was 4 and the seconds 7 then I can get 4 5 6 7 as drop's
So I tried to get started, but Once I download the Java JDK and hit run, nothing happens, so Idk if that is supposed to happen or if an installation screen is supposed to appear.
@Red_Werewolf I'm glad everything worked out. :biggrin.gif:
@Brucy_Bonus I'm not exactly sure, I will have to look into it tomorrow morning.
@Baijies I'm not sure why that is happening. Try to skip installing that, set the path, and then go straight to the MCP, see if it works. I will help tomorrow morning.
Btw, the Food tutorial is up. :biggrin.gif:

sly im a fellow modder and since it looks like your doing some good work i think ill stick around some, i understand how to fix most of the basic things and some of the advanced problems
also im not sure if you have but its best imo to not shorten any code with like .pt or whatever kind of other types there are.
I already made a tutorial for the recipes?
And what do you mean by "shorten any code with like .pt"?
I think I understand what you are saying, but I'm not sure.
Notch coded minecraft with letters like that.
If you open your minecraft.jar, you will see class files like "aa.class", "pt.class".
Now what MCP does, is basically change them in the source, (so you could understand, example - the br.class to BlockDirt.java), and when you recompile, it changes it back to letters.
I'm not surfe if that is what you mean, but whatever. :tongue.gif:

your tut didnt incude about making items that are in your mod if you dont belive me you can check and yes I mean the aa.class type stuff some moders tell to put a line of code like that and it makes it hard to understand
edit: so you do have about making items that are already in the mod but still theres no need to add the mod_modname unless your using a mod item from another mod
you could add a tut about how to make items that are in a different mod file, I could make it if you want then you could upload it its not very difficult really
edit: i just tested it and all you need to do is add the mod_name infront of the item or block and it will load it.

It's funny, because in my mods I don't use the "mod_modname" before the item/block name, but in my tutorials, I tell people to use it.
It doesn't matter how you do it. It's easier to put nothing, but then again, some people might not understand why. :tongue.gif:

I checked out your food, tutorial.
Its great! I created an Irradiated apple, which damages the player 10, (5 Hearts) when eaten.
But I was wondering if you could maybe make a tutorial on how to make 'a' [YOUR] custom items, or any other item in that case to randomly generate in the chests of dungeons.
If not, Thats ok your probably REALLY busy.
But if so, AWESOME! :biggrin.gif:
;By teh way,
All of your tutorials are great! (Not just the food tutorial) -[But that is Great too!]
If you would like me to, I could make a tutorial, but it should be pretty simple to understand. :biggrin.gif:

That could be done, but I'm pretty sure, the person who is downloading your mod, not only do they have to download ModLoader, but also "ShokAhPI" - http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/78064-173-shockahs-mods/.
Scroll down to the "ShokAhPI" and open the spoiler, and then open the "for modders" spoiler.
