Dude please make tut's on 1.8 modding please!!!!!!!!!
modloader modding tends to stay about the same. also mcp is needed if hes expected to make a 1.8 version. give him some time. hmm i might post a tool tut for sly soon. i will probally need to replace a file when 1.8 is out to reflect the sword change.

Yeah at first i thought it was already out for 1.8 but then i checked and they said it would be like a week delay.
sly i have a new tut for you. adding a prop file. In the file MLProp is
//package net.minecraft.src;
//Uncomment that line if you use MCP.
import java.lang.annotation.*;
@Retention(RetentionPolicy.RUNTIME)
@Target(ElementType.FIELD)
public @interface MLProp {
String name() default "";
String info() default "";
double min() default Double.NEGATIVE_INFINITY;
double max() default Double.POSITIVE_INFINITY;
}
delete the double slashes in front of the package. it is now usable to sub for stuff.
@MLProp public static int ExampleItemID = 2000;
code like this is what you use. then you replace the id on the actual item with that.
public static Item ExampleItem = (new ItemExampleItem(ExampleItemID)).setItemName("Example Item");
just do this for all of them and your set. if the file isnt in your mcp go to risugami's forum page look at the modloader downloads and go the the decompile fixes, it's in that file. Happy Modding!
Please help me! Where should I put the folder with the image in it? ^That's my problem.
Ok...listen up, I use to have this same error/problem but i figured it out!!!
these should be easy to follow steps!
1. go to your MCP Directory
2. Go into The Jars folder.
3. Go into the Bin folder right click and upon up minecraft.jar with your favorite program (winrar/7zip etc.)
4. Drag the folder that has your textures into the minecraft.jar
5. Make sure you have deleted the Meta-INF
6. Exit out of the minecraft.jar and run recompile.bat
7. Run reobfuscate.bat
8. Go into the Reob folder..get your class folders and install your mod into your normal minecraft.jar
(delete Meta-Inf, make sure you have ModLoader)
and last but not least!
9. Enjoy your new mod :biggrin.gif:
Here's what I did: I made my files in the src folder in mcp, then I opened up the .jar (I hadn't recompiled or anything, it was right after I had put my files in), then I put im my folder. When I recompiled there was a small error I think about one of my file, and then it couldnt find bin files for the client when I reobfuscated. Here's my code:
mod_DirtCraft.java
package net.minecraft.src;
public class mod_DirtCraft extends BaseMod
{
public static final Block dirtBrick = new BlockDirtBrick(ID, 256).setBlockName("dirtBrick").setHardness(1F).setResistance(5F);
public String Version()
{
return "1.0";
}
public mod_MODNAME ()
{
dirtBrick.blockIndexInTexture = ModLoader.addOverride("/terrain.png", "/DirtCraft/DirtBrick.png");
ModLoader.RegisterBlock(dirtBrick);
ModLoader.AddName(dirtBrick, "Dirt Brick");
}
}
DirtBrick.java
package net.minecraft.src;
public class BlockDirtbrick extends Block
{
protected BlockDirtbrick(int i, int j)
{
super(i, j, Material.ground);
}
}

in the jar. if you put them in like /examplefolder/exampletexture then you need to put em in a folder named that.

Should I put it in the source before recompiling/reobfuscating?
And what's the difference between recompiling and reobfuscating and which one should I do?
please?
