Read the tutorial more thoroughly. I explained everything in the ML tutorial, so you might have just missed something. Anything that can be applied to normal modding can be applied in ML modding.
How would you create a block that changes texture after a certain amount of time?
I'm not really sure. You could do something similar to a furnace. Define two blocks and make them switch when you want them to using a tile entity. This is really complicated though.

I am trying to make 3 things, all of which are linked together. Please do not say read the tutorial more carefully, and do not direct me to another tutorial, I am terrible at reading generalistic stuffs. I want to make a recipe that makes a block that when right clicked creates a mob that is your friend. I know some of the coding basics, and the recipe I want is "[]X[]" "YZ[]" "[]A[]", where X is iron helm, Y is iron sword, Z is iron chest, and A is iron legs. I just feel stupid reading all of this java script and only half of it makes sense to me.
