Allright everyone sorry, been busy... playing minecraft... Haha. So anywayz. I need to re-work parts, so sorry about the path thing. I will add that in.
Also sidft, IF you read my setting up tutorial, you will find out how to get JDK. Just look at ice's script to find out where to put the slipperiness. I would tell you, but it's useful to be able to figure stuff out yourself. I will get the modloader compatible tutorial up soon...
Sorry, I did forget to tell you how to add the name. That isn't actually the name script, that is just part of the programming the ingame name is stored in the lang file. So, i'll add this in, but you can just read this so you don't have to find it in the tutorial.
Open: MCP\temp\minecraft\lang
Edit the en_US.lang using notpad
Scroll down until you see this format of wording:
tile.dirt.name=
tile.dirt.desc=
They must not have implemented the description yet, but the name is the ingame name, so just add a set for your block.

o men before i read this i did a class file named blocksuperblock =( will it still work or what modloader do i need
edit and i also tried to putting it in the dirt java and it gave me an error
when i did have no error i tried to test the game and i can place the block but cant step on it =( (thats when i did a brend new java file for the block
"WindowsError:[Error 32] The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process: 'temp/bin/minecraft\\terrain'" Help plz. on the decompiler.
So, um, sorry if I wasn't clear about this but by same place I meant, the sources folder "the same place" as all other blocks. You always have to have a new .java file when you make a new class.
A sidft, idk, but if you gave me a more complete error report out might help. Right click while in that black window and hit "select all", then it should all go whiteish, push enter and it will go black again, and then just paste, and you will find you copied the error report.

I got my mod working i use the crying obsidian block =) and you should make your mod tutorial how to make a block plantable for newby i think i know how to do it but you know =)
If it's a block, it's placable. So making block works I think. The only unplacable things are items.

i have a problem here "The top left square is 0, the one right of it is 1, and the next 2, and so on. That number is what you use as int j.
Open MCP\temp, and find the file "terrain.png". You can edit this image to include your own texture. Just open this up with a image editor (NOT PAINT), and find an empty spot. I found spot 39, right next to bleeding obsidian(the wierd block next to obsidian). I chose that one, cause it was the first empty spot, so I didn't have to count as far."
when i open MCP then Temp i can't find the file "terrain.png"
and on your picture i don't see an empty slot next to the obsidian but an iron block 0.0
That picture is old, but I was to lazy to upload a newer one. As for the terrain.png, it should be there. IF not then you did soemthing wrong. Just try typing terrian.png while in the folder, and if it's there, and you typed it right, it should show up.

This is probably because you are using 1.5 files, and MCP is not yet compatible with the new version of minecraft.

To mod minecraft you're fine with little or no java experience. If you want to learn java, I would suggest you type this into youtube: Java Programing tutorial -1- Setting Up JKD they are by thenewboston and I have found that it is always helpful to see what you are learning. As far as pixel art... I have NO artistic skill. But, if you make a mod, you will probably get many offers for artistic help, if you make an early release, and request artistic help somewhere.

You know what? I ready don't knorr a good image editing program. But what matters is that this program allows you to have blank (transparent) spots in the image. I personally use a program called game maker, but it's main purpose is not actually image editing...

Great m8, glad you like it, maybe you wanna rate it? 1-10diamonds. Also, I like your avatar and poemy thing. Also, it looks like your block looked well, and you made a pretty good texture for it. I've never bothered mak'n one nice for a block i'm not releasing lolz, my brother wanted me to make him that, and I let him pick his color, it ended up bein pure navy blue, when I did it myself, it was pure yellow... Haha. Another thing you can do(i've never actaully done it, but I don't see why it would be hard) is setting light opacity. That is to say, making it transparent. I"ve considered doing things, where I make a block that is invisible, or I've wanted to make a glass block, that has no opaque spots, although it isn't completely see-through(it's tinted a little, but not a lot), or I've considered making a block the player can walk through even though it looks like a normal block... Hehe, that one isn't on topic I guess, but it's like the opposite of the invisible block, and I think i'd make it a TINY bit see through.
