Yea, with any class file I try to open with DJ java decompiler I get:
"File access error, or file not exists. Check all or try again
Possible reasons: File C:\blahblahblah\ei.class is corrupt"
Either extract the entire minecraft.jar to a folder and open ei.class from there, or open ei.class from inside minecraft.jar. Do not open ei.class in a folder that does not contain the rest of the .class files.
Or even just zip ei.class and open ei.class from inside the zip file.

can someone make the ei.class file with a completely removed cape cuz it annoys me both in SMP and in my private server which i play with my friend
Ok, first i tried making the .png file transparent. That didn't work. It just made the cloak black in game. Then i placed // in front of the lines containing the cloak url to stop it from loading. I tried it out in game and the cloak was gone. I messed around for about five minutes and had no problems with it. However, please make a backup of your minecraft.jar file just in case. You might want to change back to it. Here is the file with no cloak. http://www.mediafire.com/?k9rckmxudugvrmj
For some reason the DJ Java Decompiler would not decompile the class file for me so I downloaded another program, Cavaj, I opened the class file with that and made the changes I needed to there then I saved it as a .java file.. Now THAT file I could open with the decompiler.. So I followed the steps there and now here it is.. It wasn't working at first cause I could not figure out how to add the .jar files needed because they werent showing up but then I realized I was pushing the wrong button.
I see now my original problem was moving the class file out of the .jar file.
Yea, with any class file I try to open with DJ java decompiler I get:
"File access error, or file not exists. Check all or try again
Possible reasons: File C:\blahblahblah\ei.class is corrupt"
This is taken directly from the DJ java decompiler web page.
When the user copies & pastes a .class file (for example MyClassFile.class) from "Temporary Internet Files" folder to a standard file folder Windows may suffix (rename) this file. Windows concatenates the original file name and "[number]" string as following: MyClassFile.class --> MyClassFile[1].class. In some cases DJ Java Decompiler will be unable to decompile the suffixed file MyClassFile[1].class, causing an error: "File access error, or file not exists. Check all and try again! Possible reasons: the file MyClassFile[1].class is corrupted". To solve the problem user needs to restore the original file name: MyClassFile[1].class --> MyClassFile.class.
Could it be a problem with windows renaming the file?
It didnt rename the file, however I did copy the file to a different location for whatever reason.. Guess I was afraid of changing the file while it was still in the location it was going to be used from even though I already made a copy of it to my minecraft back ups folder.. Anyways, all the pointless work aside I figured it out.

Did you delete the META-INF folder. You need to delete it when you install mods.
oh i didnt know bout that where can i find meta-inf
EDIT: found and deleted it but it still wont load
as i said before the prolem might come since i am using 1.0.2 version of the minecraft beta since the server that my friend host is on it and he has that version cuz he has a non premium account and uses it to play SMP of minecraft and we decided to do MP but when we joined MP for the 1st time we got capes added to both our SMP and MP chars

Yes, this is the reason it won't load even though you deleted the META-INF file. I have backups of minecraft versions going back to v1.2.2. I will upload a file that is compatible with your version. Give me a few minutes.
