1. first open up you finder, click on library, then appliction support, then there will be a folder called minecraft
2. open minecraft and then you will see about 5 folders click on the one that sais bin
3. when you open bin you will see your minecraft.jar "not a folder yet"
4. right click on minecraft.jar and it will give you some options to do to the file, click on compress minecraft.jar and then it will turn into a folder, and that where you put your mods.
For those of you who think this post isn't helpful, this is meant for Windows (I have Vista) users. I probably would have been stuck trying to find this folder for a while if not for this post as I'm not quite as computer savvy as some.

one MAJOR problem
i followed your steps. NO MINECRAFT.JAR FOLDER!!!
there are several mods i want, i have repeatedly done your steps etc. and still no minecraft.jar folder.
it isn't pirated and works fine. so if someone could help....

Another tip for you guys to make a shortcut to the .minecraft folder on to the desktop.
Now, don't be selling ******** that isn't true.
Minecraft.jar isn't a folder, it's a file.
