Recently, I downloaded a few skins. I would move them, they would replicate, I would not be able to delete them either. I did have a program that let me run emulations of other Operating Systems, and I tried it on them too, that also lead to problems, except for the linux operating system I ran it on. So, I am assuming that it is a Virus.
I know what they are because I put them on my USB. In retrospect it was a horrible idea, but thankfully I have nothing of value on it. I'm just putting this out there for a warning, and hoping the owner of minecraftskins.com will find a solution to this. Until such time, I don't plan on using that site.

This isn't possible, it's most likely your USB was infected through an external machine. A .png cannot carry a virus.
I think you misunderstood my post. It was downloaded to my computer from minecraftskins.com, I went to move them on my computer and they replicated. Then it would say the file was not found when I tried to delete the picture. And everytime I tried to move it to a new spot, a new file would be created. The same error would come up for that. Then I moved them to my USB and couldn't get rid of them either. It was only those files I got from the site that did it.

I think it would be possible if you were downloading a zip or exe from my website, but you are downloading a PNG, it is literally impossible that it includes a virus.
Oh, I see. Thank you all for posting, especially TheSkindex. I will go back to using the site then. Still not exactly sure whats going on though with the files, but I will try q220's suggestion.

A PNG -CAN- carry a virus, it won't be able to execute in your web browser but there are ways to embed an executable inside the image, most virus scanners can detect this however.

exactly. Viruses like to attach themselves in different ways, and most antivirus can pick it up. Same concept as embedded .jpg, but with .png. Never say a file cannot carry a virus because of the type.

Thanks for your concern

I love Blizzard, but god help me, WoW is a giant money engine that uses human souls as fuel.
The skins were
[*:2wxn4s6n]Assassin (with hood)
[*:2wxn4s6n]Felix
[*:2wxn4s6n]Minecraft Knight
[*:2wxn4s6n]Teutonic Knight

This is the first time I hear such a complaint,

So if my RCERT fellows say that your site is a bit hostile, I believe them.

then we may has a problem
Eh, doesn't matter, nobody posts in this forum anyways
but still >.>
still the output would be .exe not .jpg or .png (unless its a 0day exploit)
or you had hide known extentions on so it looked like .png but it was really .png.exe :tongue.gif:
