Hey i've been thinking about starting my own public Minecraft Server, but i don't have a powerful secondary computer that i can run the server on while i play on my primary computer on the server, so i researched server providers for Minecraft and found what i think may be a decent one, called TreePuncher.com. I looked through the pricing and for a 15 player bukkit server it would be 230$ annually. My question to anyone out there experienced in this is: is this a good deal? Do they let me customize the bukkit plugins, ops, admnins, etc.? Also, if i payed for 1 year annually recurring payment, could i stop the payment and change it to a larger player limit if i ever needed to? Is there any other server providers for minecraft that i missed out there? Please answer, and thank you!
No, it doesn't look very good. $20 a month for 15 people isn't great. Do you plan on having a lot of plugins, or keeping it simple? I currently rent from Beastnode, and I like them the most out of the past ones that I have dealt with.
Hmmm I actually found one called Daddycheese Hosting for 156$/year for 24-slot server, with control panel. Really my only concern with server hosts is price and if it has a control panel. Anyone ever used Daddycheese and been happy with it? Or anyone know anything cheaper than even THAT? I looked at veoserver, beastnode and volumedrive, all fairly expensive (volumedrive was WAAAY overpriced and wasn't even dedicated to minecraft).

I recomend mcprohosting.com they are cheap and great. I promise you wont get better service anywhere, from the most RAM to easy to use/install plugin system. I used them for a long time, and honestly the only reason I dont use them anymore is cause im broke. But I had a $20 60 slot server with a godly ammount of RAM.
IP - play.phanaticmc.com
tell me how 9 > 35
IP - play.phanaticmc.com
ummm no volumedrive is 35$/mo dude http://volumedrive.com/vdrive/?a=dedicated
+plus volumedrive doesn't have any packages between 1Gig~2Gig which is what i'm looking for (somewhere between 18~30 slots)
VPS = virtual private server, what u were looking at is dedicated
its not managed minecraft.. BUT if u cant install bukkit on ubuntu though imo u dont deserve to run a server

Virtual Private Server? Can that be used for a open Public minecraft server?
