Chapter 4 - Heroes And Thieves
Welcome to the world of Ragnarok! We host a roleplaying server based in a quite open Fantasy-Steampunk setting mixing magic and technology in a large scale 7km map. Our server features plugins such as MCMMO, iConomy, Factions, Magicspells, Professions, Chestshops and more!
The world of Ragnarok is mostly wild and unexplored, teeming with ancient ruins and mysteries untold. Away from the rising empires of Britania, America and Asia, in the wilderness of unconquered lands sits the far reach town of Port Neptune. A haven for exiles and scum of all kinds and hosting one of the most renowned black markets throughout the oceans of Ragnarok, many gather to it in hopes of fulfilling their dreams of riches, adventures or of a new beggining.
Many have come carrying their hopes, unfolding here a new page of their life. Pirates from the seven seas, slaves who escaped the fall of Ikol Industries, pilgrims seeking for redemption and enlightenment, daring entrepreneurs in search of riches of all kinds... Whoever you are, from any of the corners of the earth, wonders and dark secrets await none other than YOU, to uncover them!
Many races evolved in the world of Ragnarok. From the well known humans and mysterious golems to terrifying creatures such as vampires and werewolves. 13 races to choose from, each carrying their own special abilities.
The Races of Ragnarok
Human:
IQ of most stupid person in crowd / number of people in said crowd = IQ of the crowd
Nevertheless, most of the heroes, wizards, witches and people worth any note at all are human. This is probably because, as already has been stated, humans are the most common race in ragnarok, so if heroes, wizards etc are picked by fate at random, the odds on bet is that that character worthy of note will be human. Any that aren't human and yet are still worthy of note can thus be treated as a simple anomaly and be ignored.

Vampire:
Vampires must consume blood to survive, but the blood doesn't have to be fresh, or even human. The craving for human blood appears to be more an addiction like alcoholism than a strict dietary requirement. Some vampires choose to not drink human blood at all, They refer to this change in diet as "going cold bat". Many get jobs at butcher shops or slaughterhouses in order to obtain their sustenance without harming human beings. In giving up human blood, most vampires sublimate their desire into a secondary, more socially acceptable addiction such as coffee or even politics. Vampires denied the opportunity to satisfy their secondary addiction may begin suffering from severe withdrawal symptoms, including hallucinations, spontaneous combustion, crazy itches and random detaching of limbs. Vampires in this state will eventually become unable to control their natural addiction to blood.
Vampires are nearly indestructible. Though they can be reduced to fine dust by sunlight or a small number of other means, a little know fact is that simply dripping a little blood (human or otherwise) onto the pile will result in complete reanimation.

Troll:
Trolls are often tall, lanky, and muscular with blue skin, fierce fangs and long ears. Most trolls live around 300 years but some use alchemy or voodoo to extend their lives to around 700. Not all trolls practice voodoo, but it is widespread among the troll tribes. Voodoo is a dark mix of alchemy, sacrifice, cannibalism and black magic. those who practice voodoo consider spirits to be individuals much like living creatures. Spirits are greedy, hostile and dangerous. Trolls also believe their ancestors linger on as jealous spirits who miss the land of the living and require blood sacrifices to appease them. Trolls sacrifice and eat their enemies. They conduct these practices for two reasons. First, they believe the sacrifice of sentient creatures appeases malicious spirits. Second, they believe that after death, an enemy’s spirit can visit misfortune on its killer. By consuming the flesh of their enemies, trolls believe they can also consume their enemy’s spirit, or at least damage it enough to render it impotent. Little is known about the emergence of voodoo among the trolls, for most tribes that possess such knowledge are unwilling to share it with outsiders. Trolls are very strange beings often creating mischief and misfortune for those who encounter them, purely for there own amusement. Although enough physical damage will kill them, trolls can regenerate lost limbs and heal grievous physical injuries at an accelerated rate, giving them a large advantage in battle.

Undead:
Zombies are the most basic kind of undead. Essentially, they are people who are dead, but haven't stopped moving. Unlike zombies in most folklore and horror fiction, they are not automatically mindless, but may retain the same personality they did when they were alive. This personality tends to be obsessive in some way. A zombie can usually only be created if there is something more important to it than passing on. In this case, they may be summoned back by a voodoo or dark magic practitioner, or simply refuse to move on to the next life. The most difficult thing about being a zombie is that the body has actually stopped living. This means bits are likely to drop off unless precautions are taken. It also means thought is required regarding the autonomic processes, as its functions no longer happen automatically. A zombie can remain active even if its flesh is lost to wear, tear, and rot. Since this is very inhibitive to social acceptance, most zombies apparently use some artificial methods of preservation. Not doing so can result in becoming a "skeleton man."

Golems:
Golems, the main race of The Alchemagical Society, are a fusion of magic and machinery. The first Golem was the Alchemist Veildar, who, during the creation of his Golem, accidentally absorbed the souls of the entire empire of Seleinus, wiping them almost completely from existent. Golems are the souls of mortals that have been contained inside an artificial body, be it mechanical or of natural stone. Disconcerting to many because of their bodies, they do have the ability to talk, often to the surprise of some poor traveler who has mistaken them for a statue. Golems are extremely dextrous, allowing them to do many things a human, or any other race, would not be able to do. Some work alone or for others, and are very popular mercenaries, and bodyguards due to their incredible stamina and strength. They have few weaknesses other than the weakness of the material they are made from and magic, which was use to forge them and therefor can be used to damage them. While most Golems start out with same mechanical or stone base, they modify their body to fit their own personal tastes, often to better suit there new life goals or just for vanities sake.

Enders:
The Enders are mortals corrupted by The Shadow. When the Shadow takes the soul of a mortal, the darkness in that mortal consumes them and they are then reborn as a Ender. Enders, being formed from darkness, have varying strengths, depending on the amount of darkness in a mortal's soul. The darker the soul forming the shadow the more powerful and more monstrous the resulting being will be. The most common form is that of the Enderman, which is also the weakest of the enders, mainly due to the fact that they only have the most basic memory of there former selfs.

Werewolf:
Werewolves are lycantrophes that roam the wilds, living in nomad societies, forming hunting packs and usually staying away from civilization. Werewolves tend to refer to themselves as ''Uhran'' and when in wolf form speak what they call the First tongue. They often preach a mystical 'Father of all wolves' and follow animist and spiritualistic beliefs. Although aggressive when the full moon shines high in the night sky, their human selves may sometimes have radically different personalities. Generally living within their packs, some exceptions happen where a werewolf is raised as a child within the cities of civilized men. In those cases, whenever they realize their true lineage, some take it as a curse while others as a blessing. Hunted and thought of as monsters, those lost Uhran tend to have complexed and chaotic personalities often resulting in a fight for control between the wolf and the human.
Unlike Vampirism, Lycantrophy is not transmited by blood or bites. It requires a specific ritual to be performed by another werewolf. Otherwise, it is only transmissible by lineage from parent to child. It is rumored that there have been werewolves amidst human, elven and dwarven populations.
Abilities:
Werewolves change into their wolf alter-ego as soon as the first moonlight of the month appears. The change lasts for a week then they revert to their original human state. They have an innate agility and strength that enables them to leap large distances in a single jump.
Appearance:
(All Werewolves have distinctive yellow eyes in human form.)
