Altaite, you are being considered to be the server host!
ocelot117, we could always use some more builders. You're being considered.
EDIT: Just tested out your server. It runs faster than my singleplayer does! I only noticed one thing: when it rained, there were a few glitches, namely rain drops falling through through the ceilings. Other than that, great server! I hope you're still up for this hosting job!
I do believe that is a bug in all servers now, i hav been on plenty of servers after the 1.8 update and all seem to have that problem.

Position you're applying for: (either Host, Builder, or PR, etc.): I would like to be an Admin / Faction leader. I am not good at building much but i think i can lead a team / keep a server under control.
Why you're signing up:Ive always tried finding a good server, but they all end up missing something that sparks my interest. You guys seem like a mature group that can have fun while obeying the rules. I want to be part of this because your idea could be something big, I mean it could be a big server! :tongue.gif: Well anyways, I would hope for you to consider my application because I am eager to be a part of your upcoming server. :biggrin.gif:
Previous server hosting/building experience (include other servers you have worked on):I had my server for like 5 months. I managed to hold it under control with only one other admin and about 50 players. P.S. I dont know anything about the plugins / bukkit or the way it functions. I simply ran the server in the game. My friend did all the plugins and everything essential to make the experience as fun as possible. It shut down due to the fact that I couldn't fund it any longer, but If your server gets big, I may throw in some money to help it keep running. :biggrin.gif: I am fair to the members of the server because, ofc, I want people to stay and keep coming because the server runs through the people. I only punish those who break critical rules made by the owner of the server.
Things you're good at building:Im not that good at building much but I guess I could get a bit creative and make something up. Haha Im not signing up for building much but I could help if you asked for it :] I suppose I can build decent houses. If you tell me what to do, I can do some group projects with the rest of the server.
How much time can you spend on the server: I can be on for about 2 hours - 3 hours at night or day. Highschool is tough so I dont really know my schedule for gaming, but believe me when I say that I will be dedicated.
Any additional information: I hope for you to see this. Thanks.
Hey Derreth, perhaps opening your server for all applicants for a day or so might be useful to pick the best ones out. But if someone is asking for a higher rank you should not give it. Everyone has to deserve his/her rank right?
On a more serious note, there should be people who have the job of vetting and accepting applications...one person doing all this is more than a bit unfair.

Apparently, people differ on this. I've found some who say it does, and some who say it doesn't. I'm gonna go with doesn't make lag. For most people, as well, lag means either a low fps or really slow playing. I mean REALLY slow.
AidanJan, yes please, if you could help me manage the applications, then that would be very much appreciated. The same goes for the other people making up your trio, like the guy who posted the pictures. It's safe to say that due to your enthusiasm and dedication, you are all in!
Anyways, I am still sorting out for a host. altaite's was great, but I found that when I logged in, there was a period of excessive lag, which got very VERY annoying. I will be looking at some of the other applicants for host.
And now, drum roll please... The lore!
A few notes: first of all, this is still a work in progress, so everything you read is subject to change.
Secondly, and THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: this lore is my intellectual property. I'm fairly certain that that means that there could be legal issues if you try and steal my idea(s).
Now, here we go!
Story:
Many, many years ago, the world of Entalis was ravaged by wars. The three Gods of the world constantly battled each other for dominance and superiority in their beautiful and lush world, and their followers obeyed their commands. Blinded by their own religious fervour, they waged crusade after bloody crusade, all of them trying to earn their place as the global superpower. But just when the crusades were threatening to destroy Entalis, one man, by the name of Anim, rose up and united the three warring Gods under one banner, and brought peace to the world. For many decades, the civilizations of Entalis thrived under Anim’s rule.
Then came the cataclysm.
In a single event of catastrophe the likes of which has never been seen before, an enormous object fell from the sky, passing over the great civilizations, and landing in the perilous uncharted desert lands. At the exact same moment, Anim, the man that united the world, died, and great sprawling cities collapsed, lost without a trace.
Now, with Anim’s passing, and a new fourth nation rising up, the world of Entalis has once again fallen under times of war as the great crusades return. All four factions, the scattered remains of what was once a thriving civilization, are now battling for one cause: to claim the Holy City of Carda.
You are a citizen of Carda, having been born and raised within the same walls that Anim ruled from, and within the same walls that his tomb lays. The wars will never enter Carda, for it is too holy a place to spill blood. But you feel the call to war. Who will you support? Will you try to unite the four Gods once more? It is time to find your destiny and carve out your fate in the world of Entalis!
Factions:
Maris, the Ocean Kingdom:
Once the heart of human civilization, Maris is said to be the birthplace of humanity itself. Those who follow the religious ways of Maris believe that when the world was young, the Goddess Caritol rose out of the sea, and looked upon Entalis. She felt pity for the world, for it was empty, and without life. So she filled it with air, sky, sun, trees, grass, and animals. But still Caritol took pity on the world, for while it now contained life abundant, it was still very lonely. So Caritol gave the world a gift: she raised the city of Maris from the depths of the ocean, and in it she placed the human race to be her people. In thanks, the humans turned to Lady Caritol and praised her for her powers, and her ability to create life. And Caritol was fed by their worship.
As the young humans began to expand in the world, they found many hardships. So Caritol gave them great knowledge, teaching them how to prepare food, and which creatures of Entalis were dangerous. The humans thanked her, but still they wanted more. Caritol gave them tools and armour, and expanded their city. And still, the humans wanted more.
It is sad, then, that Caritol’s kindness and selflessness have led to her doom. For the religious ways of Maris depend on Lady Caritol’s gifts that she gives, and Caritol needs the worship of her people to survive. And yet, the Marites have become a greedy people, thinking that the whole of the world is entitled to them. Should Caritol stop giving them what they ask for, then not only will she loose an already violent nation upon the world, she herself will starve to death from lack of worship. But such is the war of the church of Maris.
Ignia, the Wasteland Temples
When the great cataclysm fell from the sky, three major events occurred, that would change Entalis forever. First, the legendary Anim died for reasons unknown. Second, the peace that had existed shattered, and civilization fell. And third, the Dark God Kra’ala was born. No one but the highest Ignian leaders know exactly what fell from the sky that day, but when it fell, it landed in the uncharted wastelands of Entalis, inhabited only by foul beasts like the Reavers and the drakkin. The object made an enormous crater when it landed, and the reptilian drakkin were the first to investigate it. And when they did, the Great Devourer, Kra’ala touched their minds, and brought them to enlightenment.
So, the church of Kra’ala built the great city of Ignia in the crater, and on top of Kra’ala’s Holy Relic, they constructed an enormous temple, through which Kra’ala could further command his people. And command them, he did. For Kra’ala is the Great Devourer, representing the elements of fire, greed, and hunger. He is always starving, and always demands sacrifices to appease his endless hunger. His zealous people follow, pillaging and burning the land in Kra’ala’s name in exchange for intelligence and great powers.
It is solely Kra’ala who is responsible for the fall of Entalis, and it is his will, his people, that present what may be the greatest threat to the world. Unfortunately, in this broken world, they are just another nation in these bloody crusades, fighting and burning anything and anyone that stands in their way, all in the name of their God.
Terra, the Hall of Lamina
When the world was very young, before Lady Caritol gave her sun and life, the depths of the young world of Entalis contained the first whispers of civilization. Born from the stone all around them, the Norgits gathered in the deep earth and struggled for survival. They had no light, no heat, little food, and were constantly attacked by foul monsters from all sides. Under these harsh conditions, the norgit people almost vanished before the world was done being created. And then, out of the darkness, salvation came.
The Goddess Lamina, bringer of light, came unto the huddled Norgits, and guided them towards a better life. She showed them how to make light, how to make food, how to keep warm, how to fight. Always, however, Lamina simply guided her people, never giving anything for free. She made her people earn their greatness, and it is perhaps due to this that Lamina alone has raised a truly successful civilization.
As Lamina guided the norgits, they carved out a great city, which they called Terra, and made it a place of companionship, labour, invention, and worship. As the city continued to grow, the Terrans tunneled further and further until finally, Lamina guided them out of the underground, and into the light. And thus, the Norgits met the other nations of the world. Some left to join the other religions, while members of the other races converted to Lamina’s worship. Lamina does not discriminate: So long as her people work for their greatness, she will smile upon them.
Venta, the Laughing City
The eldest of the four Gods of Entalis, Hayku, the Spirit of the Wind, the Lord of Nothing, and the Patron of Freedom, danced through the air, thinking nothing of responsibility, only focusing on merriment, pranks, and fun. It is perhaps a joke, then, that he created his people, the aislings. For he gave them no guidance, no commands, no reason to exist – he just made them to see what would happen.
Naturally, the aislings, a young people created in Hayku’s image, were just as fun loving as he is, and they followed their creator’s example with much joy. In the time of unity, they were famous throughout Entalis for their reputation of bringing celebrations, merriment, and dances wherever they went. They were also infamous for their habit of playing pranks, and robbing travelers on the roads for the fun of it.
And now, the cataclysm has come, and the people of Venta are much fewer. However, the aisling way of life has begun to appeal to many other people in the world, and their numbers have begun to grow. Not only that, but in these dark times, when merriment is hard to make, the Ventans, ever in their search for pleasure, have turned to a game now played too often: war. For the Ventans have only one goal: live for the moment, find ecstasy, or die trying.
Races:
Humans
In Entalis, the human race has become a greedy people, much due to the fault of their creator, Caritol. However, they are by no means evil. For not all humans live by the Marite code. They are a flexible species that is able to accomplish anything they set their minds to, and as such, it is not uncommon to see a human fighting alongside drakkin, or dancing with aislings, or working in a norgit mine. No matter what they do, they do so with for their own gain, be it a little fun, some precious metals in their pockets, or being allowed to give in to their deepest, primal natures.
Drakkin
Once a primitive, tribal race that lived in the uncharted wastelands of Entalis, the drakkin were raised to enlightenment by the Great Devourer when he came to this world. They are feared throughout the world, their reputation as the servants of Kra’ala spreading far before their march. However, many of them are judged too soon. The drakkin are known for being a savage people, but there is much more to them. Not all of them serve the Dark God. Many have joined other religions, particularly the Marites. However, they are still the bulk of the Ignian forces, and their savage nature will always remain within them.
Norgits
The oldest of the four races of Entalis, the norgits are said to have bones made of stone, and eyes made of jewels. While no stronger than an average human, they are well known for having nearly unbreakable determination, and nerves of steel. The norgits are an inventive race, always seeking something to make their lives better. However, under Lamina’s guidance, they make sure that they never allow themselves to let go of their responsibility. They take pride in their work, and reward themselves through labour. This is not to say, however, that they don’t mind getting a little payment once in a while. The norgits are quite faithful to their own religion, but it is not a rarity to see one walking the streets of Maris, besides business reasons.
Aislings
Famous for their childlike hearts and free spirits, the elf-like aislings used to bring merriment and celebration wherever they went. Nowadays, however, there are fewer reasons to celebrate, and it is dangerous for aislings to travel. Due to the fact that Lord Hayku, the Spirit of the Wind, created them, they don’t usually lead, preferring to follow the guidance of others, or going to where there is fun to be had. They enjoy pleasures and ecstasy over anything else, and given the opportunity to dance or eat exotic food, or play a good prank, they will always rise to the occasion. Their endless search for joy sometimes leads them down violent paths, and it is quite common to see an army of Ignian aislings slaughter and rob travelers in the name of Kra’ala.
Mobs:
Reavers (Zombies)
A very primitive people slightly less intelligent than the drakkin once were, Reavers are a people that can barely be called people. They often gather in primitive tribal gatherings underground, and have an extreme dislike of light. When exposed to sunlight, they will quickly burn to death, living most of their lives in caves and underground settlements. However, after the cataclysm, their preferred prey of drakkin became too powerful for them, and they have been expanding their territory greatly ever since, raiding the surface when the sun goes down, and letting themselves burn to death as they hunt for victims. They tear their prey apart with their claws and teeth, and moan grisly calls to intimidate their foes. And if that weren’t enough of a testament to their savagery, they make their armour out of the skin and flesh of their victims. While not intelligent enough to threaten the major cities, their sheer numbers makes it hazardous to venture into their vast territory.
Rattlers (Skeletons)
Named for the sound their grim armour makes, Rattlers are technically the same species as Reavers. However, Rattlers are arguably more dangerous than their lower-ranking fellows. They are much quieter than the warriors of their tribe, making them harder to detect. They are also armed with bows, which they use to great effect as they hunt down the people of Entalis. They are the elite warriors of their people, and tend to be veterans of many raids. Like their brethren, Rattlers cannot tolerate sunlight, and burn to death rather quickly when exposed to it. They are often in positions of political power in their savage civilization. Chieftains of particularly high power usually mount Spiders as mounts of war.
Spiders
Nocturnal predators that are rather common in Entalis, spiders are large creatures that hide in caverns during the day, and come out at night to hunt. Sunlight seems to disturb their senses, throwing of their eyesight and making them nearly blind. While they are not intentionally savage like Reavers or Rattlers, spiders are still feared for their efficiency at hunting. There has recently been an uprising of a subspecies that primarily live near old mineshafts, abandoned after the cataclysm. This subspecies is much smaller than the main species, has a blue colour, and possesses a venomous bite. They are known to spin large webs.
Hissers (Creepers)
Annoying beyond belief, but nonetheless feared, Hissers are beyond the understanding of most scholars of Entalis. It is commonly accepted that Hissers are just one of the many practical jokes that Hayku has created, and their association with the wind strongly supports this idea. They will run up to an unsuspecting victim and begin to emit a hissing sound as they suck in the air around them. When they have built up sufficient air inside them, they explode, letting out all the power of the wind inside them in a powerful detonation, injuring anything unlucky enough to be too close. While these strange creatures may be amusing to the Wind God, they have become deadly pests to the people of Entalis.
Slimes
Little is known about these rare creatures. The Terrans believe that they are both a blessing and a curse to them, providing rare resources and annoying pests to their underground city at the same time.
Angels of Kra’ala (Endermen)
These utterly bizarre beings did not enter the world until after the cataclysm, and their nature is as alien and deadly as the Dark God they represent. For reasons unknown, they pick up and move objects of the world around, rearranging small pieces of the landscape at the whim of their God. No matter which God you worship, it seems to be a sin to look directly at an angel, as doing so will enrage them, opening their mouths as they enter a primal fury of hunger. They will not hesitate to use their divine powers to strike down any who oppose the sacred, and often secret, will of Kra’ala.
Fallen Crusaders (Zombie Pigmen)
Cursed with grotesque bodies no longer resembling themselves, and doomed to wander the Nether for the rest of their afterlives, Fallen Crusaders are the tortured souls of those that fell in the bloody crusades before Anim united the world. When Anim finally managed to get the three Gods of the time to settle their disputes, they sent all of their warriors to the dreaded afterlife. It is unknown whether or not this “Nether” has anything to do with the Dark God Kra’ala or not. Fallen Crusaders usually ignore those whom they used to share the world with, but if challenged they will not hesitate to slaughter those that oppose them.
Praetorians (Ghasts)
Praetorians are the fierce guards of the Nether. They possess strange powers that should not exist, and employ them in their duty without a second thought. These massive beings float aimlessly around the dark atmosphere of the Nether, constantly on the lookout for potential escapees and those that should not be in the afterlife yet. When hunting down what they view as a criminal, they will suck in hot gases from the air around them, and then blow it out again in the form of an explosive fireball. While they are fearsome things, Praetorians are by no means invincible.

It's glorious.
I'd be delighted to help out with apps, as well.
