Writing Essay:
1978, Minecraftia, CreeperVille. About 25 years ago, a terrorist, named Graphel set his first evil trick, that was to blow up a house. It worked the first time, but the second time he failed, and the TNT went everywhere. Soon enough, he exploded creeperville. There were no survivors, but Graphel. So Graphel packed up his belongings and went to seek another place to roam. But then he thought, "Wait, I can make a base here, a huge base for myself! Thats always what I wanted!" So he unpacked, and began to build with the millions of resources lying around of whats left over.
Years and years past, and it's time to open the base, called Creeper Fortress. It
was perfect! Meanwhile, at the other town, good people and a running faction thats moving nice and slow is going on. Graphel was a terrorist after all, he liked destroying towns and cities, he's pretty much a pillager terrorist. He decieded since he was getting way too old, he would destroy one last thing before he turns to his old age and soon enough dies. He will destroy the town thats running perfectly, and bring it to choas. Thats where YOU come in, and try to save the town!
*Make builders build walls for protection! Fighters fight off the creatures! I'm telling you, this will make the Iron Storm game really fun!
The villain was gonna be macman 1717. your welcome to join him if you want though. never fun without some sort of villainous cast of scoundrels.

Writing Essay:
I awoke late at night, my traveling companions still sleeping soundly around me. I still couldn't sleep, not after what happened that horrible night. I tried to get as far away from it as I could, but it still followed me in my dreams. I was never going to be free from these haunting memories, taunting me for my failure that night. I kept telling myself I couldn't save him, that it wasn't my fault. There were still doubts, no matter what I told myself. Three years had passed, and still, I couldn't shake it.
I was a proud soldier in the Kymerran Army. Stationed at the castle of Caenir, we were to hold it no matter what the Helornians threw at us. We all had the idea that if we could hold them back long enough, the reinforcements from the garrison of Kymerra City would be able to rout them from behind. Unfortunately, our captain, the famous Kontan Rekor, told us that we would have to fight this one alone. Everyone's faces turned grim, and we were suddenly unsure. Our captain quickly re-assured us, giving a speech that could only be described as optimistic. The other soldiers had the Pride of Kymerra in their hearts, but I was a skeptic.
I went to my position as ordered, and looked out at the Helornians marching towards us. I wasn't willing to die, even if it was for my country. Did this make me a coward, or just smart? When the enemy hit the walls like waves beating upon the shore, I used the carnage as an opportunity to back out. As my brothers were being pushed back, I went and hid in the Captain's Quarters. Taking advantage of a hole in the wall barely small enough for a grown man. Thankfully, I wasn't grown. I was still only a teenager.
I hid and listened as the fighting continued for hours, with the sound of metal on metal and men screaming filling my ears. I nearly went insane, until suddenly, it was over. All that could be heard was the moans of the wounded, and slowly but surely, the Helornians began executing everyone, even their own men. They slaughtered the civilians that were hiding in the Great Hall, leaving none alive. Finally, satisfied that it was over, they left the castle. Their only objective was to take Caenir and slaughter the famous captain where he stood.
Once I was sure they were gone, I curiously peeked out of my hole. There, on the ground, was Kontan Rekor. He was still wearing the breastplate that was forged for him by the King's smiths. His neck had been cut and he was bleeding profusely. I crawled over to him, and he opened his eyes and began to try to choke me. I paniced, but he relented when he saw that it was one of his own men. Sadness filled his eyes, and he tried to speak to me. No words came, but I knew what he was thinking.
He was ashamed of me. The only man that mattered in the entire kingdom besides the King, was ashamed of me. I was moritfied, tears filling my eyes as he died on the stone floor. Feeling guilty, but still trying to think about my current situation, I removed Kontan's breastplate and put it on. This would be the only reminder of Kymerra that I would have for the rest of my life. I had to leave, as Kymerra was no longer my home.
Month after month, I wandered aimlessly. When people saw my breastplate, they gave me food and lodgings. I felt guilty, but I could not turn them down. I needed sustenance or I would die. One night, one of the farmers told me that there were ships bound for a New Land, looking to start fresh. Seven of them, to be exact. I knew this was to be my destiny, and I headed there and boarded the ships with many others.
None of us knew what we would find there. I was just glad to be able to start anew. I was going to carry on the legacy of my Kingdom in spirit, but not in name.
I suddenly snapped out of my daydream, as one of the men aboard the shipped started to yell. I went out on to the deck and stood there with the others. Dawn was breaking, and in the distance, we could see landforms. We were finally there. I just hoped that this had all been worth it.

"Rather let the crime of the guilty go unpunished than condemn the innocent."
First and foremost! New applications will be added to the waiting list, once I'm done writing this post and reading Foffy's.
Secondly, Heroes, Villains, whatever, it's great to see people already wanting to cause mayhem and mischief. However, I will point out that darker evils and stranger things will be appearing in events, or even story line arcs. I think that was a spoiler of what was to come....Oops.
I'd also like to say that by the end of the week we'll have the first part of the background lore called "Creation" posted. It just needs to run through some proofreads and then it'll be posted.
So keep an eye out for that!

Writing Essay: As i'm boarding this newly made boat of a high grade wood, I ask myself, "Is this really what I want? Do i really want to leave everyone I know?" And then my mind says yes, but my heart says no. As im sailing to this new land of the name of Iron Storm, will i get a second chance at life? Everything i had was a simple blanket and hay bed in a small Cobblestone House stuck as a measly coal miner. maybe saving up those diamonds I found for this trip wasnt a good idea... maybe I should have stayed and made a small fortune. But now, I could be a famous builder, a wealthy shop keeper, or even a legendary white knight! And as I arrive at this land, I realize... this is my time to become the most famous and greatest person to ever live.

Well, as promised, we would post something for you folks to read and get an idea of what the world use to look like prior to these seven ships landing. This comes as a surprise (even for me!) as I said we would have it to you by the end of the week, and, we tirelessly spent hours slaving over hot computer screens, typing until our fingers would fall off, just to bring you this first installment before the end of the week. Now, I will warn you, it probably has a lot of grammatical errors, and for that I'll apologize ahead of time. Also, there is a little treat, I went ahead and included the second installment.
There will be three more of these type of short stories. "The Rising of Kingdoms", "The Second Exodus", and "The Endless Sea".
Anywho, enjoy.
--------------------------------------------- Creation; I
Every civilization begins with it's own creation myth. Despite cultural differences, the people of this world considered themselves creations of Manat, and they paid homage to the creator of their world, in some way, as universal custom for all civilizations.
This is how the world began.
Since the beginning of time, that incomprehensible moment when things came to be, there was always one constant: Manat. Manat soon grew tired of his isolation in the endless voids of time and space. Deciding to create for himself a world, where he could walk, live, and admire the slow development of things to come.
With a wave of his hands, Manat made the world as we know. With valleys, mountains, forests, and vast oceans. Along with these elements, Manat had also created a destructive force, one that would further develop the lands – fire. For a time, Manat was content, to walk amongst his creation and to see it develop, and fall, all before his eyes. Soon he grew tired, however, of the endless cycle of things growing and dying, then re-growing, the constant cycle of death, and life.
Manat had not bargained for the cyclical resilience of his creation. So, he decided to diversify it once more. Taking up clay from a riverbed, he began to shape the first man. To govern this freedom of form that his newest creation would have, he created Urd, the god of earth, and birth. With water from the river itself, he gave the man life to course through his veins, just live a river through land, then created Isir, the goddess of life and the waters.
He wasn't satisfied with just that, however, taking wood from a nearby tree, he gave the man resilience, protection, and strength. In doing so, the god, Gudri, of strength, and the forests, was created. Finally, with fire from the deepest volcano in the lands, he gave man the spark of creation and life that drives us to consume and live as we are, but also to go out, and cease to exist. To govern this part of man's life, he created Valdri, the goddess of fire, destruction, and the cycle of life and death. In this way, Manat, had created the first race of men, and put them forth on his world.
This first race of man lived well for a time, developing the tools that we, today, consider commonplace, and continuing to worship the gods as they should. However, as is all history of man, things began to sour. The minor gods who Manat had created to govern different parts of mankind's life soon grew restless in their positions, and wished to grow in strength, and power.
Soon, the minor gods began to approach mankind, offering them gifts and boons to worship them over all others. Urd had given his followers the ability to bring life to those things that had not known the gift before, and granted them powerful weapons from the depths of the earth. Giving her followers the ability to control the seas, and also bring prosperity to their villages through bountiful harvests, was Isir's own gift.
Gudri, had made his followers the strongest in the land, giving them powers far beyond those of normal men, and gave them all the boons of the forest. All while Valdri, had given her followers the power of fire, the power to burn, and destroy those who opposed them, and the power to bring back those who had already died. Ashamed of his own creations, Manat exiled himself to a distant continent of Bellitria, so he could live out the rest of his so-called mortal existence.
The First Exodus; II
Those who had sworn their undying love to Manat, soon found themselves without any hope, as the minor gods continued their bloody crusades for power and domination. For generations to come, those who wouldn't renounce their oath to Manat, were slaughtered, hunted like animals, all while these gods continued battling each other.
It was said, that upon the year of the falling, a new hero would arise amongst the innocents, to bring them to the safety of their creator. The stories were said, that this hero would take the shape of a woman. Polymnia. They told that, Polymnia would arrive from the endless sea, bringing with her seven ships, and an army, to defeat the corrupt blood thirsty minor gods. As Manat willed it to be.
As the rumor of the day that she would make landfall came closer. Thousands of those in hiding began moving their way to the village of Da'lem, a port city on the endless sea, where it was said, Polymnia would make her stand, for the people of Vaecyria.
Of course, things could never be too easy, as the stories had told of the final battle would take place within the village itself, between the minor gods and Polymnia. On the blackest night, seven ships carrying a vast army, had arrived to a village that once had been abandoned.
With only a few hours, until the morning light, and the torches of the armies marching upon Da'lem, did the people make it onto the seven ships, and the Army of Manat, stood waiting.
Thus was the Year of the Falling, and the First Exodus. Grandparents told their grandchildren tales of the great battle, as it was seen from the ships leaving to the endless sea. They tell of a great white light, that washed over the land itself, and the silence, that soon followed.
The minor gods, were gone, the grandparents said, banished from the world, forever. Manat, himself, saddened over the ruins and the remnants of the minor gods armies, left his mortal body, allowing mankind to follow it's own choices, and swearing to never interfere with mankind or create abominations again.

Okay, I have offered my views on the difference between griefers and true RP thieves. Now I'd like to speak on a different topic: possible classes.
Warriors
These are the soldiers and mercenaries that protect the town and police it. They protect the town from nighttime invaders, be they man or beast. They police the towns, roughing up troublemakers. They also are the first to enter any new cave system, carrying torches to light up the darkness as they kill everything in their path. Should conflict erupt in the mines, the Warriors step in to restore order. Being frontline fighters, Warriors should be the first to be issued diamond swords and armor once a city can craft such items. Warriors on city security duty should also carry fishing poles, since these are the only tool available in the game for capturing and apprehending ruffians.
Archers
A special caste of Warriors who are skilled with bows. Players who join this class have to be very good at aiming arrows, since they are the long-range support for Warriors. Archers should possess nearly a full inventory of arrows, and ideal points for them would be inside specially built sniper towers built into the city walls. Archers shouldn't need heavy armor if on city defense, since they will normally be in their sniper towers, safe from anything outside and sitting next to a chest full of food if they need it. But when they're sent to aid Warriors in attacking another city, they should at least be given iron armor. Due to the close-quarters nature of most caves, the long range of Archers is wasted underground, so they should never be assigned to trailblazing through mines.
Smelters
Since anyone can build a workbench and craft their own tools, proper blacksmiths aren't entirely needed, persay. But if you have a wall of furnaces, you could easily take up the role of a Smelter, a professional crafter who can cook ore and cobble into ingots and stone for a price. Smelters keep a private store of coal, and customers pay for the use of the Smelter's coal reserves and furnaces. With an entire wall of furnaces, the Smelter can run many projects at once. Of course, the Smelter should keep a list of everything he's currently cooking in the back, lest he lose track of a project and get stuck with an unhappy customer.
Farmers
These humble souls grow wheat and sugar cane, and raise animals for meat, milk, eggs, wool, and leather. Farmers should keep large fields and small forests on their property so they can harvest lumber and crops, and having a large lake for fishing works wonders, as well. Since wood can be made into charcoal, farmers can be almost completely self-sufficient, fueling their own furnaces and selling their crops and cooked meat to anyone willing to buy. Of course, farmers living outside the city are vulnerable to thieves, so it's highly recommended to have some form of security. Wolf packs are great, since a pack of ten or more will murder anyone not wearing armor before they can blink. Dispenser and TNT traps are also very good, but be ready to fix the fence once the bomb blows.
Architects
Any one person should have the know-how to build their own home, but for public projects, a professional is required. Architects are teams of builders who take assignments to construct large structures for a fee. Architects also are known for their skill in building mine cart highways. Architects are normally employed by the city, but private citizens with money can also hire them for a price. If you love to build works of art, this profession is for you.
Miners
The backbone of any Minecraft city, Miners are the ones who hack away at the earth with shovels and picks, delving deep into the belly of the world for riches and resources. What more can be said of this caste? They are brave. They are eager. And they want to dig. Miners in the employ of a city will likely need to turn over most of their spoils, but there are Miners who live outside of civilization, digging away at their personal tunnels. Expect trouble to brew when a city project runs into a private mine. Miners are also an asset in war, since they can dig through city walls and are the only people qualified to carry and use TNT.
The Mayor or King
If it's just a city, it's the mayor. If it's the capital of a nation, the king functions as the mayor for the city his castle inhabits. Either way, this person is the final say in the affairs of the town, controlling all its assets and having the power to hire members of the other professions for various tasks. They alone have the power to declare war on another town or nation. They should also be guarded whenever possible. I'd also recommend getting some wolves if your town is in a forest. Also, abusing your power can get you overthrown, so behaving like a tyrant when you don't have the loyalty of the town's Warriors is a very bad idea.
Thieves
A very unique caste of characters that toe the line of fair RPing. Thieves must be approved by the server's staff before they begin their life of crime, and must submit to the will of the city if they're ever caught. Thieves are known for being clever and sophisticated, slipping into unguarded homes and taking valuable items without leaving a trace. They follow personal codes of honor and restrict themselves to the looting of buildings. Attacking people on the roads like a common bandit (AKA griefer) is pathetic and beneath them. If you want suggestions on how a thief should operate, please let me know. I can make an entire post about the matter.
Conjurers
This staff-only profession is for mods that want to be able to give back a little to the community while remaining within the rules. Mods have the power to create items. While doing this willy-nilly is of course a stupid move by any stretch of the imagination, regulating the use of /give can create an interesting caste of characters that can prove helpful in a pinch, but cost the buyer dearly. When you can't find something in town, and it's not something you could make yourself, you can visit the nearest Conjurer and purchase their services. Conjurers create items, but they charge immense prices for their work. And since mods have no need to buy or trade with the normal players, this effectively takes whatever was used to buy the item out of the economy, helping to reduce inflation. Conjurers, of course, have to follow strict rules, lest they be demoted to a mere player or worse, banned. Conjurers that live near towns can also be asked to help deal with the town's more volatile citizens, creating jails of bedrock or banishing them from the realm (in other words, they do mod work in character, which makes pwning the griefer even cooler). As I said before, only mods can become conjurers, and should only take up the profession if they understand the price of abusing their power: if you're caught, you're GONE. I'll go into detail on how Conjurers should operate in my next post.
How to be a Conjurer (AKA how to RP viably with /give)
First off, only mods can be this unique profession, obviously. They are to be held to an even tougher standard than thieves, since abuse of /give can upend a server's economy with almost no effort at all. Like with players who RP as thieves, zero tolerance is the best policy here: you screw up once, the admins can do what they like with you, be it demotion or bans.
Charge an arm and a leg.
Pretty self-explanatory. Since the primary function of a Conjurer is to be a money sink for impatient but rich players, making your prices much worse than those in town is a must. My recommendation would be at least double the in-town prices at bare minimum, and triple normal prices for normal fees. Remember, Conjurers act as money sinks, so don't be afraid to overcharge a little.
Be hard to reach.
I'm not talking about basing yourself in the Nether or Far Lands. Just keep yourself distant from anyone living near you in some fashion and make it a task all its own just to find your front door. A good method is to build your fortress on a high mountain and remove all paths up to the peak except for one very dangerous path. Won't stop smart people with ladders and picks, but being clever enough to reach your home is good enough a reason in-character to answer their request.
Stay neutral in conflicts.
You may offer the nearest town your trade, but you are foremost a moderator for the server, your in character profession being only a day job, of sorts. You simply CANNOT show favor to any faction unless the storytellers among the admins permit it, which they likely won't. This is the quickest and easiest way for a Conjurer to get himself in trouble, so let me say it again: DO NOT SHOW FAVOR TO ANY ONE FACTION.
Try to do your mod work in-character when possible
It helps a LOT with the immersion. Is a bandit harassing the city you live near? If he drives the town away, you won't be seeing anymore business, so it's time to get to work. Where the guards fail, you can succeed, since you can summon bedrock from the bottom of the world to imprison troublemakers or use ancient magic to banish them from the lands forevermore. You can work many server functions into your RP in some fashion if you simply think for a while on how to adapt them.
Obey the Elders (AKA Admins)
This goes without saying, but repeating it never hurts. You are only a moderator, a server op. The admins outrack you AND control the flow of the plot. Bend to their decrees, even if it means closing up shop and locking down your fortress for a while. Sometimes ancient wizards just know when not to leave their lairs open for anyone to come in.
Oh and by the way, I have a question, do we get Pm'd the IP address?
Players who've been wait listed will be able to log onto the server an hour earlier on launch day than player who register for the white list when the server actually launches, at this moment in time, we do not have a server ready, as we're still looking for a host.

So keep an eye out for that!
Uh, what's that over there? Seems to be...oh..right...

Roleplay Experience: Well, I used to role play with some friends on other game (which i would rather not disclose, ridicule much.) I miss that. Im really good at it too! Ive done it for atleast a good month.
(I took alot of time to write that. hope you like it.)
Feel free to post it when you're done. Any and all suggestions are welcomed.
There will be three more of these type of short stories. "The Rising of Kingdoms", "The Second Exodus", and "The Endless Sea".
Anywho, enjoy.

Creation; I
Every civilization begins with it's own creation myth.

Writing Essay:I am StaticNoise012,Higher Noble Dwarf of the past...I once lived in the underground city of Ogrhen, I wish to leave my city and become a new person, my most requested role in the world of Iron torm is to become a mage of the Circle, but assuming im a dwarf it will most likely never happen, but you never know what will happen in the lands of Iron Storm...you never know
Whew, I need some sleep.
Oh, well I can join him then. :smile.gif:
Players who've been wait listed will be able to log onto the server an hour earlier on launch day than player who register for the white list when the server actually launches, at this moment in time, we do not have a server ready, as we're still looking for a host.
We're currently putting the finishing touches on the website/forums, they should be up by next Monday, the latest would possibly be Wednesday.
