Pretty amazing service, but the control panel is a little bit buggy.
We're working quite diligently at fixing them though. I just solved the 3 biggest bugs so far this morning! :laugh.gif:

In terms of the hosting, it is amazing, I had about 14 people on the 512mb for about 1-2 hours and there was no lag what-so-ever. I really don't like the fact that you get charged for everything, back at brohoster when they were on the hdds and not the ssds, i was told they don't limited your hdd usage but they would respect you keep it under 10gb, they also gave a free mysql db upon request, if we are going to compare a brohoster package with a lethaldrive package, this is what you end up with:
$30!? I know I will probably get the response, most people would never use 10gb, that doesn't mean you charge us for more, more reason to give it to people who would use it for free, it doesn't make sense to me. Jake, if I didn't think you were an amazing worker I would have never ordered, but I did, and I don't regret ordering, because the service is amazing, it's just not cheap, please remove the hdd limits.
It's not so much that we're charging for everything so much as we are giving you the option to pay only for what you want to pay for. I do agree that the HDD pricing is a bit steep, I'll make a modification to it within the week. However, the MySQL hosting costing money has a huge reason to it and that's simply the fact that our servers have absolutely no room for any sort of overload, even if every single server was at 100% utilization. MySQL servers take up a lot of RAM which can be used by other Minecraft servers and as such we will price it accordingly (no different than RAMdisk).
If more than 30 out of the 80 servers were being used at Brohoster, the box would grind to a halt. It costed less solely because of how many servers were being put to a box.

Hay Jake,
The server is great and runs smoothly but I cant pick up any items even if I throw them down myself. My partner can't either. It won't even let me access a chest. I have moved out of the spawn area so I know that's not the reason. I opened a support ticket the id is: #783504
I cant move forward without this getting fixed.
Still waiting on said email... STILL Got your trouble ticket email okay, SMPMinecraft.com ZombieChickenTaco, Thanks

What would be the rate for my Bukkit server with its own unique mix of plugins to be hosted, with enough RAM for about 30 players?
If you wanna be able to host 30 players while having a fair amount of plugins, you would need about 2.5gb RAM at the minimum for the least amount of lag.
If you wanna be able to host 30 players while having a fair amount of plugins, you would need about 2.5gb RAM at the minimum for the least amount of lag.
No you don't. At most you'd need 2GB, 1.5 should do fine. We have 256MB servers which have had 12 players on it. It all depends on what you install and how much your players explore. We do upgrades at any time in the month, so you can start small and work up as you need more.

kinda saying "most people would never use 10gb" there, but the service is amazing and thank you for that, but I just want to know, the mysql db i had, is it still working or did it just get disabled?
If it shows the MySQL info in your panel, you still have it.

Will your panel ever offer a console (like McMyAdmin)?
Do you restirct the number of ports a server can use?
Will you ever offer voice server hosting?
The console shouldn't be too far off, I already have a way to send commands directly to the console (I utilize this to safely shut down and stop the server rather than TCAdmin's kill method) and it also logs ALL output to a text file on the fly.
At the moment, there's no port restriction. However, there will be a system implemented soon that will require you to 'register' a port to unlock and it will require authorization from the support team.
We do plan on offering voice server hosting, yes.

A while ago JWJ sent me a Private Message. He told me that "more options would be available soon enough". This was in regards to me complaining about the Brohoster shenanigans.
I replied to him;
I don't know how brohoster was when you were with it, but I sure as hell know I didn't see people making these kinds of complaints when you were around.
Yeah I read you were going to make your own venture, I'm gonna go with [removed to prevent advertising] or some ****. Sounds second-rate but to be honest I could be surprised at this point. Brohoster sounded pretty ****ing good and now look at where it stands. It's gonna be hard to compete with the prices, bro. But good luck to you.
This may sound odd, but I looked deep into the brohoster stuff that went down and constantly came across old threads back when JWJ ran the show. They were always full of praise, telling JWJ that **** was good and things were going smoothly. When the new company took over, it went downhill. Said company eventually ran with the money. Cool guys.
However there's one thing that's bothering me. In order to come close to most VPS servers that offer dedicated RAM (these are becoming increasingly popular), I would have to pay JWJ over 140$/mo for a server.
This is absurd. At that point I might as well go full-blown dedi.
Competing with the prices is one thing JWJ is going to have one hell of a time doing. I ****ing LOVE how fully customizable the options are. Seriously, more servers need to do that. So good. But I am not willing to pay close to double the price to get it.
Sure, I could just simply do that. Not pay for it. But I feel I might as well voice my opinion over the situation. I'm not trying to *****, just... trying to be constructive and possibly failing, but still I am bothered by this one thing...
JWJ ran the show with Brohoster. He made brohoster. That was all him originally. People praised him for how amazing the servers were both in ridiculous show-stopping price and undeniably totally awesome support. Everything was too good to be true but it worked and as far as I know it was still fairly profitable for JWJ.
JWJ sounds like a cool guy, but I don't understand why Lethal Drive is going to be a case of JWJ made it, JWJ provides amazing support, but the price is ridiculous.
See what I'm saying here? What changed? Were you overselling with brohoster to begin with? If that's true, why were people pretty much bending over backwards to kiss your ass and praise you with how much of a good job you were doing? Surely they'd have started to say "hey wait a minute brohoster is going downhill...jwj wtf man".
I'm not trying to say JWJ is getting greedy or anything of the sort, but I do not understand the dramatic price increase.
What's the deal?
When I saw the topic made by you, I was thinking of switching, but looking more into it, perhaps not.

What's the deal?
When I saw the topic made by you, I was thinking of switching, but looking more into it, perhaps not.
The primary reason for the price increase is because we were able to get 24GB Dual Quad boxes for $314/mo from Softlayer. We still get good deals from them, but nowhere near as good - we only have 16GB on our boxes and one CPU for a similar price (about half of the resources for the same price). Moreso, the requirements for Minecraft have raised greatly. There's also some new policies that I was able to implement due to writing my own panel that will ENSURE that our servers stay 100% stable, TCAdmin had a tendency to mess up it's balancing and we'd have to run in there and fix it ourselves. Some boxes even had 48GB of servers instead of 24GB, solely because TCAdmin never balanced it based on RAM - something we do and also something almost nobody else does.
The fact that you can buy a dedicated server/VPS yourself for similar price isn't deniable, but your server won't have the tools and monitoring that our servers will have. There's also the fact that we have to buy that same dedicated server and make profit on it to pay for our employees, and since we DO NOT oversell our servers, we can't just sell more shares at less cost. Our services are meant for those who don't know much about Minecraft or dedicated servers but want a ridiculously high performing server. Our partner company XenonServers is more budget and less performance. Even when I maxed out our RAM selector to 4GB, it was still only $103.25. A Xen VPS (something that is evenly distributed by RAM much like our servers) would cost a similar amount.
P.S. Bumping up the HDD space to what the VPS gives you shouldn't really count as an indicator of how much we cost, most minecraft servers don't need that much disk space.

How long is the time from which you order to the server can be online?
Should be instant, but some orders aren't being autoprocessed by WHMCS for some unknown reason. Gonna have to look into that. I assume yours hasn't been activated, so I'll go manually activate any pending orders now.
