This will be open to all who are in the Orlando Florida area (even if you're not able to attend Minecon).
My buddy and I are going to be insanely bored for 6 hours before we can check into our hotel. My flight comes in Friday morning so he and I will be in Orlando area and we want to set up a Meet & Greet with fellow Minecrafters so we aren't total strangers to Minecon. It helps to go into Minecon with some people you've at least already met once.
If you guys have ideas on how to spend the day Friday that doesn't cost anything (we are poor lol - all our money is going into Minecon), then we are open to hearing it! I will be updating this page with more information as it comes in.
If anyone lives in the Orlando area and knows something free (or relatively cheap <$10) to do, please speak up

I signed up to volunteer for Minecon so I don't know if I would attend a m&g but thinking of backing out because they demand volunteering for half a day both for Saturday and Sunday which is kinda absurd. They should do it by 1 hour increments in my opinion. Anyway, Universal CityWalk looks interesting from what I read. Might want to also consider lugging around luggage since most people will not be able to do early check ins for their hotel.
I probably won't arrive until around noon local time and hotel check in time for me is after 3 pm. I'm not familiar with Orlando either but I did check out this article of what Orlando has to offer for cheap/free: http://www.orlandoin...around-orlando/

ctiy walk is ok. its mostly just a bunch of shops themed like movies. I mean that's cool if you're into that kind of thing. it leads straight into Islands of adventure and Universal studios. its basically a fancy boardwalk. there are some shows and stuff you can go to but its not free

I should be getting into Orlando via train around 1pm on Friday and unfortunately no one in my family is a gamer so I will be alone. So I would enjoy meeting up and hanging out with some people.
We will arrive with my two nephews at about 3:30 pm on Friday, so after we settle into the hotel, and get situated, we might be up for visiting with folks around 4pm.
Since we will be at the Days Inn, it will be easy to meetup at the McDonald's across the street at the corner of Hawaiian Ct, and International Drive.
Address:
9814 International Drive
Orlando, FL 32819
Also, where is the exact location of the event ?
There are two large convention buildings... one southwest of Convention Way and International Drive, and another to the Northeast of this street intersection.
Also we will probably be at IHOP restaurant at the Days Inn for breakfast each day, since it is so convenient.
Hope to see everyone there !! And thousands of other minecrafters as well !!
Minecon will be held in the West building which is southwest of Convention Way and I - Drive.
Thanks. Where did you find this info ? If it was in the email from the ticket vendor, then I will need to have my nephew (who bought the tickets) FWD the email to me... which would be a good idea regardless.

Sorry, I usually include a reference and source for things like this. The West Building and address was provided on the EventBrite Minecon event page. You may view that information here: https://minecon.eventbrite.com/
I'm also a Minecon Agent(volunteer) for this year's Minecon Have a safe trip and see you there!

I won't go to one at Mc Donalds lol! That is too ghetto. Come on! I am sure there is a restaurant with a bar around. Even the hotels have bars.
