I was just informed that the person attending the event's name MUST be on the ticket. Is this true or not? I had my father pay for my ticket so this might become a problem for both me and anyone else who had their ticket purchased by one other than themselves. This also must pose a problem for any ticket sold on ebay.
It would be great to get some help here, thanks guys!
If your fathers attending with you, then you are fine. As long as that persons name is on the ticket. If it was one name1 ticket why did they allow a larger quantity, if you now what I mean. Just make sure he has his ID and also bring along the credit card you purchased the tickets with just in case.
I had the same issue. I recived an email from Mjang support that told me it is not an issue if you're a minor and its your guardians name, more do you have to have them with you. this was a formal email from Mojang support. so you're good to go see you there

Issue is that I'm 18 and my Dad will not be attending the event with me. That's why I'm worried.
I'm sort of in the same boat, so I contacted Eventbrite about the admittance policy a couple of weeks ago. From what I gathered, you can change the name on the tickets, and as long as that person is present, you'll be allowed in. It doesn't matter who purchased the tickets.
Edit: Just saw that you can't change the name anymore. That's too bad.
It will be fine. I doubt they are going to check every ticket. Plus you have the same last name I am assuming. It isn't worth the hassle to Mojang to argue with people at the door. Seriously I would not worry about it. It was mostly a scare tactic because tickets can be forged.

I don't entirely agree w/ your logic of don't worry about it. If you take the time to set aside plans to attend an event, then show up at the door and because it isn't in your name, that's going to leave a very bad taste in a person's mouth.
This person is at least trying to preemptively address a problem, kudos.
Bring a written note with a copy of one of your father's ID's. When at registration show your ID and explain that your father purchased you the ticket. I'm assuming you and your father have the same last name, so it should not be a problem.

This is the best thing to do. In most cases I would assume it actually won't be much of a problem especially with the last name thing probably applying, however this should cover any problems.

Ask your dad for the account he used to order the tickets.
