totally agree with you bro! that is a ripoff! ive seen other cases of greed also. for example, $200 for an iphone, and $1500 for a good computer! im dissapointed with mojang, they can do better than this.

I'm tired of hearing from poor kids, honestly, not trying to be stereotypical. Yes, iPhones will cost around $150-200. Yes, great gaming PC's will cost around $1000. Yes, convention tickets are more than $5. So what? You obviously haven't had a job. You're a kid. You don't get paid a lot. Get over it, and stop complaining. Minecon is located in areas are the WORLD where their player-base is the biggest, and guess what? USA likes Minecraft. Get over it please.

People on here talking about how overpriced the tickets are and how cheap it is to setup a convention obviously have no experience in the field. I work in entertainment, I setup huge events in concert halls and stadiums and renting convention centers for 1 day can cost from $60-$100,000 per day depending on the venue. A staff of security and assistants and sound people and lighting and technical teams and advertising and media people and probably more than 500 people are getting paid to work to put this event together, so take that into account.
Also they definately need to purchase insurance for this event in case something happens, they are legally not at risk. Thats not cheap. Have any of you even paid car insurance before? Let alone insurance for the lives and safeness of 7500 guests + hundreds more of staff. About 10,000 people theyre responsible for.
They also have to pay a deposit for the events room, in case a bunch of you kiddies put market all over the wall or puke on a computer or destroy the place in any way. It happens, and there are costs for it.
Anyway I dont have time to school all you guys but do some research and its quite apparent how quickly the expenses for these events can add up quickly.

Thank you for giving you personal experience with conventions. I don't work in the industry, but I could imagine some of the costs from just from an educated guess. People need to realize an event like this doesn't magically happen. Takes lots of people and time to plan and execute these conventions. I've been making posts and replies that point out expenses and cited sources from research I did about the finances that go into hosting a convention. I said it before and I'll say it again the more people that are involved the more money it will cost.
