Haha glad to see the Hive owner playing this I'm part of TheAuroraProject and Minecraft1337 is our redstone/command block guy that's doing the resourcepack as well for our "The Damned" Minigame. If you happen to be reading this Minecraft1337 than well done!
Well that's a pretty scary map, but I think you should spawn mobs around the area and put some torches about 9+ blocks away from one another.. Like some enderman, creepers etc.. to make it more thrilling
the yogscast have really degraded since last year. theyre more "family friendly" by making it seem like a lame TV show. not to h8, but about 2,000,000 people have been subbed to the yoggies since their declination.I HATE BLINDNESS EFFECT
Of course you can make Minecraft scary. With a good use of the power of suggestion and surprise, and with deadly traps or mobs that kill you in one hit, you can even turn a bright, happy blocky world into a pit of fear and death. That sweet pink pig can be your terror if it can suddenly stand behind you and kill you with one oink. If you then only hear that oink from a distance, well...
I mean, the famous Slender game is also nothing more then a simple dark forest where you only have to find eight pages. There is no blood and gore, Slendermen does not look too scary and the graphics are not that high end. But it still does scare many people, because you know that Slenderman can be around every corner to kill you. The sounds effect are just making the experience more intens.
This is a pretty scary map indeed, especially with the shock effects (however, Herobrine is a little bit cliche of course) but I think that it would be way much scary if there were actually some invisible deadly traps, so that every step can be your death. But without traps or mobs (and even without costum sounds and resource packs), you can also make a scary ride and this map proves that very well in my opinion.
I agree; I hate how people associate "fear", "horror" or "scary" with blood and gore. Horror movies used to be psychological thrillers; now they are "how many gallons of fake blood can we use?".
Being a horror veteran, all it did to me was to make me tense abut. Caught me off guard with the first herobrine, but it was largely just the sound effect. That's still saying something about this map though, because they have little to work with from the beginning. If they could put a horror veteran on his guard with blocks, I'd say it's pure ingenious right there
the map was boring
also not scary at all
