no one besides me can join my server. everything is updated to the newest thing on both mine and the players'. all 1.7.2. all with the new java update. all using hamachi with the latest version. i tried the .exe and .jar files.
Wow, i decided to play Minecraft once again since i haven't played it in quite awhile, and it's good to know that Minecraft is still updated frequently! It's also good to know this forum is still going strong,I haven't been on this forum in such a long time!Oh memories :') .Well i would like to thank Mojang for continuously updating this game that I will forever love!!
Hello, you know something about this update? Minecraft was an instant success from it's start, and all of it's previous updates, including the redstone and horse update for example, were AWESOME. But, as you know, 1.7.2 was the update that changed the world, inside Minecraft and out, and it hasn't EVEN existed for 5 years yet! It's just epic how a game like this could make a change to our world for the better of video gaming in *this* little time. Congratulations, Mojang, for pulling off this amazing event in just 4 years.
Here is my full review of this update, written considering it's pros and cons.
Pros:
/setblock command allows you to make all sorts of awesome things, such as pistonless sliding gates, (with their own sound effects as well!), invisible walls (use with the new command block minecarts for something else cool later described), even rail-laying minecarts without having to use a spawner minecart! (It will only be able to place activator rails, though.) To make these minecarts, use the command on a command block minecart: /setblock ~<desired #> ~-1 ~<desired #> activator_rail. Plus, it allows you to get spawners that spawn mobs other than pigs (Which you will always get no matter what you try with the /give @p monster_spawner, (I could be incorrect)).
/summon command allows infinite mob spawning, including spawning of certain mobs, such as the giant, skeleton horse, and zombie horse, which before 1.7.2 you could only do via third-party and external tools. (What a relief! )
New flowers make the botanical nature of the Minecraft world seem more alive, including ways to get certain dyes quickly without having to mix others.
This update is where with new biomes, (which I didn't notice yet, but has got to be on there), the Minecraft world gets one step further to planet Earth's biome diversity.
New music in overworld, which is cool, and this update even puts the Xbox 360 version music from the Nether and the End into the PC version, of course, it IS about time. (I bet some Minecraft players even got a little impatient shortly before this update was released.)
New /setworldspawn command, now you don't have to make a new world should you have your world spawn in the wrong area, even without third-party and external tools!
Shaders, including the notch one in 13w48a are awesome, allowing you to customize how you see the Minecraft world, and can even be used with certain texture packs to beef them up a little bit, such as when you use the shader: bits, with the RetroNES texture pack, you actually COMPLETE the NES look, with a low 8-bit resolution and NES textures, all of this into your Minecraft.
Cons:
Music plays over each other, worse, you cannot stop it just by setting the music/jukebox and note blocks sound setting to 0, it just replays, only in a whisper. (But you can bypass this glitch by setting the Master volume to 0 and back up to what you had before, Bam. The music stopped and you can play your music disc without overlapping.)
Bug for horses getting hurt by walls may have been fixed in 1.6.2, but not for foal, especially when spawned in a wall with a horse spawn egg
Self-explanatory, some bugs with 1.7.2 world generation, including air pockets in seas and sharp biome cutoffs. (But as shown in the Minecraft launcher, 1.6.4 fixes world generation bugs that would appear in 1.7. If you haven't moved on to 1.7.2 yet, you should go to 1.6.4, if not already, and load up important areas of your world first before going on to 1.7.)
If you have a weaker-performance computer than mine, (Which mine can sometimes go really slow even on minimal graphic settings,) You may find the default textures corrupted (completely black, or black with specks, and grey water) from this update. (However, my computer was perfectly able to, aside from the lag without Opifine, handle 1.7.2.)
Somewhat lots of added lag without opifine, even more with shaders, but luckily, not too much. (I don't mind it that much TBH.)
New bug: /summon command sometimes fails to work, (message: Unable to summon object) even with difficulty other than peaceful (with monsters), and no matter what you try. (May be fixed by reloading your world/Minecraft, or loading a different world.)
Command block minecart block placement may be a little off from exact location of placement
Cannot place blocks with command block minecart with exact coordinates, rather only with relative coordinates (Type ~<Desired #>).
Overall rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars(*)(*)(*)(1/2)( )
Final Desc: This update wasn't the best for Minecraft, but with all those awesome new addtions to the game, Mojang really did choose the right development direction for our game, and maybe for it's future in 1.8 and future versions as well if they keep it up.

Why fishing changes anyway how many people fish or garden
I'm one of those surface dwellers who consider creating a paradisical garden more entertatining than digging holes and killing monsters. My only criticism of the new updates so far is to agree that finding villages is impossible, therefore I will collect villager eggs from Creative Mode and build my own. I also enjoy fishing more now as it realistically pulls out more than just fish. My mother had about 30 coffee cups she dragged in from a number of lakes and ponds. My father caught other people's lures. I usually caught a tree. As for Amplified Mode, there isn't an AWESOME! loud enough. I finally will be able to rebuild my cloud cities and temples. Just waiting for Forge to update so I can add Pam's Mods to the flowers and plants that will make the towns spectacular. Happy building and fun fishing to all!
I'm really looking forward to that too, but I love the new update! Colored glass is so pretty and the new biomes are awesome, and the possibility to change the size of your portal is so useful (^ω^) It would be cool too if you could take fish and turn it into bait to increase your chance of getting fish!

lol. The thing that amuses me is that the fishing rods are so common as to make fishing self-sustaining, especially if you use the anvil to combine rods. Every time in 1.7, by the time I've worn out my first rod, I've caught a bunch more rods, half of them with Unbreaking. (Let alone lure and Treasure!)
I don't mind the stone-topped mountains, but the gravel-topped ones are annoying -- digging is as bad as in a desert.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.
This is quite the leap of faith for Mojang at the moment, especially considering that they decided to change over 500K of coding, even making it harder for Server Providers...

because you're the only person that matters who plays minecraft...?
I like fishing, and now that there's a chance to catch goodies, all the better
If you're talking to me, then you're welcome.
