I think this is a great move for minecraft modding in general. I have already signed up and had a bit of a play. I do have a few questions though
How does the repository work in reference to the packager? The details on CurseForge seem very sparse on this feature
I currently use a python script to compile/reobfuscate/pack my code, will this cause issues?
I have noticed there is currently no way to download minecraft mods within the curse client.
Will this be something that is added in the future?
What changes will we have to make in the files we upload to make our mod compatible with this feature (if it is added)?
Will this feature also be avaliable for coremods? Furthemore will we be able to specicify both a coremod and a "regular forge mod" in our downloads? (My mod will soon require this)
In the future what is the best way to contact the curesforge team about issues/question sucha s the ones above?
Sounds cool, but it does need a bit of work on the stylesheet (from what I see, using chrome).
CurseForge is only meant for authors. It's not meant to look good, just get the job done. All released/beta mods will syndicate to Curse.com where users have a great looking site(really though, it's all subjective) to download mods/addons/etc. CurseForge was never meant for the general audience, only authors.

1. I don't think so, but if you could elaborate more on why you think it would cause issues I could get a better answer, but I don't think it'll be a problem at all.
2-1. We are looking into this, but my guess is that we wouldn't support such a feature until Mojang comes out with their official mod API.
2-2. Whatever Mojang thinks is appropriate we will also most likely use. Probably a zip with the mod in a folder below the top level.
2-3. If implemented this way, there will be no more core mods, sorry!
3. You can directly PM me here or on CurseForge, my username is the same on both, ahamling27.
I'm looking into these as I type, I'll try and get answers soon™.

Unless there is going to be a site API of sorts where we can get at the mod info in an automated way, this is just going to be what the current MCF system is like but with a prettier, more "organized" skin. It does almost nothing on the user end beyond making the search function a little more powerful.
