"discover what the rest of us already know: that Minecraft is one of the most awesome games ever!"
Oh the elitism, and just when I began to think that those of us that had aged past 13 were better than this. Doesn't the internet have a word for this, "Circle-somethingorother"? But really, this article says that Minecraft being awesome is a fact (opinion, lolwut?), and that those who agree are, or will become, part of the best gaming community in existence, of all time, entirely, end of. Implying that those who don't agree are wrong, while almost directly stating that other gaming communities do not match up to it. Why yes, the community that outright proved that Minecraft alone has little appeal to long-time players without constant expansion such as mods - which are entirely third-party mind you, no official API yet, is there? - or the seemingly endless stream of updates that just create more and more controversy and rifts within the fanbase, is, with no doubt, the best of them all. Not to mention, I'm a part of this community, which automatically takes away a few points. Jokes aside, this article should have practised the act of speaking for oneself, and not stroking the egos of fanboys. At least we now have a reason to keep our ears to the ground given how low the author has sunk.
Don't get me started on Minecraft itself, I could just spout a library's worth of opinionated nonsense about poor design choices, poor management, reliance on the community's mods to add spice to the otherwise bland updates, ridiculous priorities (see above on modding API), etc, so I'll just say this: it's wormed its way onto the Xbox One. Make of that what you will.
If you're so unhappy with Minecraft, why don't you leave the community? You said so many negative things about the Minecraft community, but stated that you were in fact part of that community.

You mean the choice of Java? It's problematic, but it doesn't drastically kill any kind of playerbase or performance. If you mean the code that's been used and poor optimization (such as the game being a resource hog), you've clearly missed the many, many optimizations made lately and have missed the upcoming ability to control how much memory Minecraft uses from the new launcher (and even save it to a profile so you can switch between them).
poor management
This one's just ridiculous, how on earth is Mojang poorly managed?

Haven't updated since 1.7 beta I see, as particularly in 1.8 beta and 1.5 release there were numerous additions which added uncountable cool new things that can be built. Or perhaps you want to say something like isn't amazing.
ridiculous priorities (see above on modding API)
Yesterday I just installed Forge and with it, Traincraft and was able to seamlessly switch between that mod and the latest vanilla snapshot using the new launcher. Your argument is invalid.
I love Minecraft but I'm not going to buy the Xbox one to get this version for several reasons. I already have the xbox 360 edition and the PC, so spending $500 just to get a newer version that is not as good as the PC version is an absolute waste of money. I also don't really support the Xbox one, but that is a different discussion.
Isn't Microsoft's contract running out soon? I read a post by Jeb that said when the contract runs out, they will highly consider other consoles. I would like to play MC on a console, but not on that -box one. I was going to decide at E3, and I decided PS4. So I hope they will make a PS4 version. Mojang will get more money that way.
This just seems like a waste of money, frankly. The way things are going, the Xbox One is probably going to be the biggest console flop in a while, and even forgetting that, supporting the Xbox One in all of its shady glory, isn't the best idea.
Meh, the Xbox 1 will have sales. People always complain about how horrible some things are, but still get them when they come out, the same thing will go for Xbox 1. All the people complaining about it will most likely still buy it, no matter what they say.
No, most likely, people (If they are not the 100 fan boys that will die for Microsoft) will get the PS4.
They have a contract with Microsoft which means they'll have to wait for it to expire before they can consider working with Sony.
I'm a little fuzzy on the ways that contracts work, but can they work on MC for other systems and just not release info to the public? So when the contract expires, they will already have the game developed/ported.

Yeah, but I'm sure once the contract with Microfsoft runs out, the contract will come barreling right back into the Mojang office to be renewed.

That's good to hear. I'd really love to see how this game does on both the Xbox One and PS4. Also considering the fact that Sony may have this generation in the bag already, Minecraft would flourish on the PS4 and lots of Playstation gamers would get to see what the fuss is about.
Have no clue why anyone would play it on the Xbox. That of course is unless they don't have a computer that can handle Minecraft......which they should, since we are in 2013 now!
Why do I have a feeling xbox one is going to bomb quicker than the apple pippen? (btw how hard is it to overthrow microsofts contracts?) Just to add whoever gets the console reference gets a cookie :3
I don't play consoles but if i did I would be going for the ps4 simply so I wouldn't have to deal with all the retarded restrictions that xbox one will have. It makes me sad that Mojang is pretty much being forced to put their game on such a terribly developed console and lose money because microsoft is committing financial suicide by trying to control every single aspect of the way their games will be played.
I hope their contract expires soon and they're smart enough not to renew it.

Yo dawg, I heard you liked mining diamonds with diamonds so we put diamonds in your mine so you can mine with your diamonds while you mine your diamonds.

Agreed, and I'll clarify too:

With all the hate the Xbox One is receiving, I hope they will take their chance and not renew it.

Sorry, but I don't see barely ANYONE who wants this
Coming soon: Nintendo World Resource Pack

Err....
We are talking about the
XBONEXbox ONE (from 2013), not Xbox 1 (from 2001).THAT is a seriously serious pun.
Again, as you can pSee, the Xbone is not receiving the best of recognition.
I hope their contract expires soon and they're smart enough not to renew it.
