Anyone wondering if this might mean a release later this week, hence the early week snapshot? (Here is hoping)
Nope, we haven't reached the three or more consecutive weeks of bugfix-only snapshots. I wish it did, though; I would really like to start working with the /summon and /setblock commands with my NBTeditor... oh well.
Does that mean there's going to be a forest that's very dark, full of mobs, and scary?
Roofed Forest has already been released... I think it was in the first snapshot released in this series. If you've played the Twilight Forest mod, the Roofed Forest strongly resembles the Dark Forest from that mod.
Has anyone else noticed the weird looking red mob on the right?
Ah, yes, that would be Grumm flipped upside down. He really is losing his subtelty, isn't he?
Anyways, this looks like a seriously slick snapshot. Looking forward to trying it out, and especially to the release of 1.7!

Define Cute (choose 1): A) Creepers Aerbunnies C) Herobrine. If you chose A): You appeal to destruction and to stereotypes. If you chose B): You are a perfectly normal person, and enjoy the Aether Mod. If you chose C): Please leave the planet now before you set off a nuclear warhead--no one enjoys mass murders, however nice they might seem to you.
Juke boxes are so bugged right now ! if you remove the disc and wait a couple a seconds even destroying the juke box won't turn off the music !and the normal game music won't turn off even if you set it to off .. and the music stop when you hit esc (Don't think that's a bug but maybe).

why isent there a 1.7 yet...i mean they thought up so much stuff even in the first snapshot there was enough content to make a 1.7...and still? now? why mojang why?"
I hope music looping in jukeboxes is an intended feature, because I love it. C418's music is fantastic to the point where it gets old to have to run back to the jukebox to restart the disk.
Also yay new saplings! Yay boat controls! I expect the current textures for the new wood and leaves are just placeholders until they make proper ones.
Nice. The roofed forest tress will be a great source of wood without being ridiculously high.
A couple of minor improvements could be made:
2x2 spruce saplings = redwood tree. why haven't they done this yet?
Max render distance = 16 chunks. this really isn't that far. The max render distance should be at least double that for those with computers that can handle it.

16 chunks is far enough once you get farther, the memory grows at an alarming rate and the odds of being able to see what is actually at the edge of the render distance is low.
People are too willing to sacrifice the gameplay value just to say that they set the render all the way and mojang kinda saves us from ourselves.

"Cough" Go into %appdata% then to .minecraft and in that folder there should be a file named options open it with note pad find this renderDistance:# <-- the pound symbol is the amount of chunks being loaded. Your welcome.
Both the Acacia and Roofed Oak trees do not drop the correct saplings at the moment.
Also you can steer boats both by looking in the direction you want to go, or by using the wasd keys on your keyboard.
