I'm loving the mega taiga. Have been able to gather almost 3 full double-chests of mossy cobble from a single instance of the biome. I also noticed that generated lakes and surface lava lakes are significantly more frequent than in other biomes. The lava started a forest fire that became quite large and spread quickly even though it rained nearly the entire time that it burned (two days). Mossy cobble deposits also spawn in water and lava. Also, mushrooms can be grown in direct sunlight on podzol. So it's like mycelium but it doesn't spread. Also, cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, and sugar cane all seem to spawn there, so it would be be absolutely possible to survive and thrive in a Mega Taiga superflat world easily and indefinitely, so I came up with a basic preset to share too:
Given that now we have packed ice and ice plain biome, may be its time for ice cave?
Or even an Antartica biome, often alone in the ocean as a large island.
Plenty of packed ice to plunder and ... anything goes in there exciting enough.
The update is pretty awesome but why not add dyable flowers like really dys are barley any use
Colored clay and wool, wolf collars, (lapiz) blocks, (ink sac) written books, colored sheep, colored armor, (bonemeal) growing plants, (bonemeal) making giant mushrooms, and there is probably more I forgot. Plus, dying flower petals would make no sense. Flowers grow, so it would just regrow it's original color.
I haven't played and tested the snapshot yet, but things added and changed in the one sounds great.
Especially new biomes are what I'm looking forward to.
...And I hope jeb won't make hostile mobs more stronger as he did it when 1.6 was released.
This update is going to be amazing, as if 1.6 wasn't though. >.> Now the problem of whether or not to reset servers for this update comes into question...

Update your server if you completely want to get new experiences in 1.7.
My friend Sean and myself tried this out and loved all the new features. The new biomes were like we were playing with a mod.... We were going to explore and try all the new things but we just ended up goofing off, blowing things up, and killing each other, like normal. Anyway, I honestly can't wait to see what else gets put in.
Really love how you can fish up different things; such as enchanted books, bowls, another fishing rod, etc. Yet I kind of miss how the water isn't transparent unless you actually go into it.
Is breeding just by close proxmity now? Because I can't seem to feed my chickens seeds.
That's happening because someone at Mojang thought it was a good idea to make water texture transparencies dependent on your quality (Fast or fancy) setting.
If anything, water should have a separate setting because even on my beautiful rig, something about fancy just lags the duck out of it, and I don't want to have to deal with crappy water textures in fast textures mode.

WHOOOPS! Sorry, it wont delete/let me edit my posts so I can't remove this double post... Or this one... Since technically it's a triple post... (Sorry, my internet is in the crapper today)

That's not a bug, they've always done that.
I said STOP.
New Biome type
Mesa (Bryce)
That's a feature.. It was added in 1.4, dude.

So here's my point: dyes are not useless.
