People, you realize you do have more control over what type of enchants you can give onto your tools in vanilla, right? Enchanted books! Seriously, whenever you go to enchant, just use a book. If you like it, keep it, if not, throw it away. It's not an expensive item to get rid of, and you're really only wasting experience, but by that time, you probably have/can build an xp grinder. Honestly, I think this mod kinda ruins the fun of enchanting, because it's the random enchants that gives that nice, fun anticipation feel.
You can use books, but they are still random and you need an anvil which cost lots of iron. Plus, it cost more xp to enchant an enchanted item. This mod makes it cheaper since you can't mess up and get something horrible. Also, unless an xp farm is connected to a dungeon, they are very big and collecting xp takes a while.

Yes the moon can be orange, you'll see it when the moon has just risen.
Cheese door, iron sky, happy Iceland. I just said random words. The reason of this: complete random, but the question is, why are you reading this?

Mob grinding doesn't sounds that fun to me.. it sounds tedious. I'd rather get what I want the first try instead of delaying the process by wasting valuable diamonds on enchants like Bane of Arthropods..
Books still have random enchants and an anvil is needed to use them on tools. I do use lots of books for enchanting, but it takes FOREVER as I still get enchants I don't want, and then if I get what I want, I still have to enchant lots of books to get a similar one to then combine. To get a efficiency 5 book you need to enchant 32 books assuming they somehow all turn out to be efficiency 1, which will never happen. You will need to enchant over half a stack of books. I'd rather just put my pickaxe in and get what I want. Saves time. "Remove the feeling.." actually saving time feels really good also.
Would have been helpful a couple days ago. Got a Bane of Arthropods on my named diamond sword Seriously for 30 levels.. gah.
IKR. IKR *so hard*.
Definitely a nice mod, congrats to mssodin28 for getting a spotlight

Define Cute (choose 1): A) Creepers Aerbunnies C) Herobrine. If you chose A): You appeal to destruction and to stereotypes. If you chose B): You are a perfectly normal person, and enjoy the Aether Mod. If you chose C): Please leave the planet now before you set off a nuclear warhead--no one enjoys mass murders, however nice they might seem to you.
This will be useful for a lot of people out there, but not for me
I like when you get the enchantment you wanted just by "wishing" really hard
You can wish really hard, but hears a story. A person once crossed his fingers toes and his mudflaps on getting a diamond pick with fortune, but he rather got efficiency 3 and he used a level 30 enchant.

I'm personally happy for the modder, even though I don't use mods unrelated to mapmaking, hehe.
My problem is less one of not liking the mod, and more of thinking it doesn't deserve a spotlight. There are a lot of way more impressive mods out there, which actually add something to the game, instead of just making things easier. Like the Atmosmobs mod, that adds a bunch of new wildlife to the game, or any of the numerous biome and dimension mods that add beautiful landscapes to explore. Or Mystcraft, which takes crafting from just making items and blocks, to creating your own custom worlds. A mod that just gives you guaranteed super-items for cheap seems pretty lackluster a thing to showcase in comparison...and the article sort of disrespects Mojang's intent for balance with the random aspect of enchanting, by talking about this mod like it's fixing a problem, and not even acknowledging it's a cheat/difficulty-reduction.

Well, if you don't think it deserves a spotlight, contact the mods one way or another and suggest those very mods you just mentioned! Maybe they'll have a better chance to be seen then. I'm all for features of cool mods and maps, but we're not gonna get them if people don't point them out, haha.
That may explain why my map was featured over a year after it came out. People took too long to pinpoint it.
Everyone says, "What took so long?"
Just be thankful we get to see a really good mod needed as much as optifine to others. Thank you for making it possible
While I like the idea of getting to choose what enchants you get, IMO It's very OP, imagine if a group of players used this mod on a brand new faction/pvp server, surfed through the list numerous times, got sharpness 4, Fire Aspect 2, and Knockback 2 diamond swords for each person, then did the same for armor and tools. Fighting that faction would be impossible! Not only that, but PVP in minecraft is just plain frustrating, unbalanced, and involves little skill already! Good thing I don't play on PVP servers...

You actually can't use this mod on a server without the plugin, just FYI.

This will not work if its not installed on the server, so server admins have nothing to worry about.

What I hate is the over-bloated chances of getting BS enchantments:
On diamond sword, the chances of getting nothing but knockback 2 is 5%. The most likely enchant is Sharpness 3 at 7%.

The less frustrating an experience is, the better.
What could I do to make it better?
