Grumm inside the cave, just saying BEFORE EVERYONE LOSES THEIR MINDS SAYING IT'S A NEW MOB.
Oh, you really think pointing out the obvious over and over again will stop people from losing their minds?
Actually the question this begs is: Do you really think all the people who continually point out this new, amazing thing they've discovered read ANY PART of ANY post in this thread, except (maybe) the first one?
And this all wouldn't be a problem if Sacheverell simply included links to the corresponding bug tracker entries.
But that's work. I mean, he'd have to go hunt them all down on the exact page where he got the list, and then find all the links to them that are right there in the original blog post too.
For all the time you spend getting your gold and apples just 1 heart????? I would like to see it back to 2 hearts. If you do play UHC this way players will do nothing but cave and not fight. To get just 1 heart for all your work is like getting ripped off it's too expensive.
Regarding the new golden apple recipe, all I can think is that they must be planning to buff the apple in the next snapshot. The basic golden apple is already so limited as to be nearly useless (time to eat, only restores 4 hearts, and that over 5 seconds), and the change to regeneration will make it even worse, unless they add something.

I did some CraftTweaker scripts for Mystical Agriculture. They fill in a couple of small gaps in MA, and also let you make or duplicate not only vanilla plants, but the blocks, plants and wood from Quark and Biomes O'Plenty. Also spawn eggs for most vanilla mobs! The scripts are here on Github.
darn it why are they trying to make it harder and why are they nerfing stuff its ridiculous are they trying to copy youtube "lets take a good thing and ruin it"
What's this messing with hunger and potions? They were fine!! I swear if they changed it just for the mindcrack UHC guys I'm gonna be really ed off. To be honest, I think sometimes they (especially Dinnerbone) forget Minecraft is a sandbox building game not a PVP game.
And here I was, hoping they'd detail some more about the Resource Pack...
Nahp... Ultrahardcore Mode.
Hopefully they give us artists about a good month prior to 1.6 to get things ready... (I hope I can still pull off Backwards Compatibility without having to have multiple downloads...)

Everything is completely optional. I don't see what is wrong. They just added more options.
Basically the only thing they did was change the crafting recipe for golden apples.

They're NOT changing it permanently. It's a gamerule, and I think it's off by default (like keepInventory). "Game rules" are settings in the level.dat file that affect certain functions, like mobs spawning or blocks dropping as items when you break them. Also, golden apples healing only one heart is a bug, according to Dinnerbone.
Uh... if you're going to nerf healing potions, AT LEAST make them stackable. It's really hard to justify carrying a healing potion instead of a stack of food as is. Please, at least allow them to be carried in stacks of 16 like Ender Pearls and other rare treasures.
Also, cows eating buckets... is that a prelude to goats being put in the game?

MCWiki did it, he can edit in those links.
The new mobs should be underwater content and atmosphere.
