I don't want to sound like a hater and complain about how "Minecraft has gotten stupid, Wither is dumb, The end is pointless, herpa derp a derp..." I personally liked the updates up to 1.5, I just don't like horses. I'd much rather hope they'd focus on more important things, such as terrain generation, fighting mechanics, more varied and stronger hostile mobs, modding API, etc. I'd rather have 1.6 be an update to polish MC, fix bugs and rework the terrain rather than adding horses. I think horses should be left for mods or a later update. Just saying'.

"Indie" doesn't mean "Unpopular," and a lot of indie groups would be very sad that you equate them so. "Indie" means "not affiliated with a major studio" and Mojang is definitely that.
I'm not saying that at all. Other than Minecraft, how many indie games are popular enough to sell 10mil+ copies. I think Mojang has become a major studio because of Minecraft. The majority of indie games aren't as successful as the big studio games, and I'm saying they are bad games but its just lying if you say they are just as successful. My point in my original post was that a lot of people don't think indie game when Minecraft is brought into a conversation. Technically the developers of ARMA are independent but no one thinks of ARMA as an indie game. I was referring to the mindset of people now regarding Minecraft.
I read on the wiki that we'll be able to put armor on the horses, and tie them to fenceposts, as well as store things in the saddlebags. I'm really looking forward to this!
That being said, sure, Mojang could focus on "more important things" than horses. But who's to say that horses are the only thing we'll be getting in the update? 10 million sales is a huge deal, so I wouldn't be surprised if there's going to be more to the update than just horses.
So, horses sound fun. But they can't just have a horse with only pros and no cons. I am sure we are gonna have to feed them, etc. Also, I hope they are multi- purpose (One I was thinking of,) you can attach something on the horse and they can hoe ground for you, plant seeds, etc. This would also be epic for a ranch I am building on a multi player server with my friends. OOOO I CANT WAIT
Horses are going to need some good riding mechanics, equal to walking i would say, not like them pigs... It will also be helpful to use items while riding our steeds.
