Looks like it'll actually release with no extra patches for once. (For instance: 1.4 was released as 1.4.2 because there were extra patch pre-releases. 1.4.0 and 1.4.1 were never released, and for that matter, neither was 1.4.3.)
As witty and original and creative as all the Herobrine comments are, what's the word on the lighting issues? I see that my world is still plagued with giant shadow patches on building faces every time I load it. I thought this was supposed to be fixed with 1.5.
Edit: Did they really decide to just scrap the rewrite to the lighting engine?
Seriously, words can't express how clever and entertaining all of the comments about Herobrine are (like the one above, which is literally just a copy of someone's comment on page 3, and then again further up on this same page). So interesting and funny, really! Please keep re-hashing these inane Herobrine comments so that I get to search through ten times as many pages of crap looking for useful information that has anything to do with the actual 1.5 patch.
Why make the red stone update when there are mods that do it so much better. Waste of time, if you ask me. They should concetrate on mod api, and performance issues.

There are mods that do just about anything. So if it were up to you we wouldn't have anything new added to the game? You have to realize that a lot of people are dedicated vanilla players and don't use mods. It also makes it easier for everyone if it is in the official game instead of having to worry about the mod being up to date or getting everyone on a modded server to download the same versions etc. Whether you and others like it or not redstone is a big part of the game and deserves the attention it gets from them.
I think mojang or who ever os doing great it is .not easy making a game and it's harder putting stuff in the game you have to check for bugs and lots of stuff
WHY??
