I wonder how long will it take for this. -Going to be fixed, -soon- snapshot B. Not rushing just excited to be playing something that reminds me somewhat of Tekkit.

The reds tone block and easier way of getting nether brick is nice, but the rest? I'm glad you're trying to update red stone stuff for people who use it, but why a primarily red stone update and nothing else? It's kinda useless for those of us who aren't red stone savvy.
One update for people who use redstone. You have to about 1 single update?!
People who wish not to use it, don't have to. They still have every other update in the damn game. No need to about it.
downloaded the snapshot today and its awesome i love how redstone blocks are still a power source so if you put TNT on it the TNT automatically explodes

Maybe it will encourage you to become redstone savvy?
I'm not redstone savvy but I feel like this will really encourage me to learn about it and use it by just making so many options. I think we're missing out on a huge part of the game if we just ignore redstone completely.

Currently too lazy to go make an account to report this on Mojira even though I haven't seen it yet, but you can currently walk through horizontally extended piston arms if you try to walk through the portion of the arm closest to the base.
Everything about this snapshot seem awesome except for Nether Quartz. I've explored the Nether quiet heavily on my world so finding some is going to be a royal pain in the... yeah.
I don't have a use for a day/night sensor but I do have an idea of a very simple clock it could be used for.

Not really useless. I'm not a redstone savvy, and you can say that I see a ton of possibilities for these blocks to be used in a simple way that does not need a vast amount of redstone experience. Such as a hopper, you can already make very useful contraptions with it by just stacking them on top of storage blocks.
Also, notice that this snapshot also includes ze new inventory management system, and it will save a lot of time, you just drag it around the grid, spreading it evenly. This update might not be too useful for us ordinary Minecraft players, but it will attract more players to play around with ze redstone I bet. Also, finally we have actual solar panels.

doctorwhomod I don't follow the "Don't feed the trolls" rule. I feed them. I feed them so much that they get fat and die.
In case anyone didn't know, redstone comparators with only one input work as instant repeaters. Just try it for your self. (I did not find this method) I hope it's not a bug! Also, redstone blocks = what I've been waiting for as well as daylight detectors. Awesome update, as always. EDIT : I found out how to make hoppers push items sideways. If you place it when looking at a vertical side of a block (not the top or bottom) then it will become attached to it! Also, to place it on blocks with GUIs, just crouch. Sorry if I am just reclaiming what someone else has already said.
Nice set of additions. Now if we can get a fencepost type of redstone wire so we can make working chandeliers and lamp posts that will round out creative lighting. THANK YOU for making redstone blocks, can we get coal ones too at some point? Also Nether Quartz blocks would be cool too since it's common enough to warrant it. Maybey we could allow redstone and quartz blocks to be used in beacons as well
I am aware of Silk Touch, although to be honest I have never used it in my year of Minecraft residency. I can't see why you'd need to pick the whole block up instead of just mining it. Seems like taking a simple process and finding a hard way round it.
Silk Touch has many uses, even on things like this. I use it all the time to collect diamonds. I keep them in the ore state until I need them, and then I use my best Fortune pick on them. You don't always have a Fortune-3 pick but Fortune-2 is good enough if you NEED those diamonds. But why use Fortune 2 on all your ore, when you MAY get a F3 pick before you need the diamonds?
Smelting them does seem silly. I don't know why they have it in the game. But it doesn't really bother me.
This is so Cool, but the trapped chest doesn't travel through one block. I working on a custom map in this snapshot and I don't want people seeing my redstone. Just telling you a little bug I would liked fixed.
These inventory changes are terrible. Please, give us the option to turn that crap off.
I always drag and drop my items, I don't click once to pick something up, only to have to click once more to drop the thing. What's with this obviously console-orientated change?
Actually, the change that I want the most is the ability to pick up a single item out of a stack.
Am I correct in thinking that we can now use alternating wire - comparator - wire - comparator - wire to get infinite length 0 time signals? Combined with zero time gates?
(In regard to a mod that gives realistic animal genetics):
Would you really rather have bees that make diamonds and oil with magical genetic blocks?
... did I really ask that?

Also, this broke some of my BUD switches =(

Really? They are pretty common here.
