Instead, they’ll have individual files for each image they’re using. The benefit from this is that it will be easier for Mojang to support custom blocks and items in the future. It will also allow Mojang to mix and match block artwork resolutions, and make sure that you get graphics for blocks that your current texture pack isn't updated for.
YAY! I can finally drag my old Painterly pack out of the mothballs!

[Client thread/INFO] [Natura]: TConstruct, we're going to take over the world!
[Client thread/INFO] [inpure|core]: Beating Minecraft's resource loading system with a shovel. Please stand by...
[Client thread/INFO] [MagicBees]: Replacing stupid-block with 'Here, have some delicious textures' ItemBlock. This is 100% normal.
While I like caves , I agree that they are far to numerous and constant . I would like to come across the occasional cave system . Not one continual , almost never ending string of connected systems...While we are talking about that , I would hope they one day get to adding more into the underground enviroment...well , maybe after oceans see some kind of love...
the dropper looks so happy and the dispenser so shocked i get it the dropper drops things therefore the triangle points down and the dispenser circle goes forward(to victory,Lol)

Loving the fact that Zombies and Skeletons are harder now, gives me a new reason to be terrified of them again. Now all we need is for Creepers to get some wings and let Spiders be able to shoot lasers out of their eyes...
By the way, does anyone know what the new chat settings do in options? I haven't been able to figure it out yet.
I don't understand what's the difference bettween a dispenser and a dropper! Somenone can explain me?
A dispenser shoots usable items as though a player threw them. Fire charges, arrows, splash potions, things like that will be used up. Dropper just shoots them out without using them, as though a player dropped them. Droppers will also put items in chests and other containers.
Frankly the dropper block would have excited me if mod packs like Tekkit and FTB didn't already exist.
This would have been an awesome update if I had not already discovered mods.
I mean, there was a mod that had this exact functionality dreamed up in beta times. Install Railcraft only and you end up with several vastly clever block that does what this drop block does but more.
I don't think I will return to Vanilla just yet, but at least if I had to for some reason it will be a tad more interesting. Hope they add more stuff like the dropper.
Also wall-bound redstone has to happen at some time...

*coughs* Redpower, maybe? You DO realize it's been updated for 1.4.6?

Define Cute (choose 1): A) Creepers Aerbunnies C) Herobrine. If you chose A): You appeal to destruction and to stereotypes. If you chose B): You are a perfectly normal person, and enjoy the Aether Mod. If you chose C): Please leave the planet now before you set off a nuclear warhead--no one enjoys mass murders, however nice they might seem to you.

The new textures is pretty dandy , i was able to screw around with it , it allows HD, animated , you can set the animation order/time and a huge benifit is that if you have pack A and pack B , while one does half of the items and the other does the other half , its easy to combine. AND that dinnerbone made a tool to turn old style texture packs into new style , it just getts better , plus i love that i could just join a server and have HD texture . you can animate almost anything (my diomond sword is a switch blade your argument is invailid) except paintings and random stuff

If the cake is a lie........ does that mean if i build a house out of cake my house isn't real?
Your sense of style is pathetic , I always look to java programers for style , because where ever they are , they always have .class.
I kinda like the new minecraft update. This will give custom map makers a new completely automated way to give players items with the Dropper block and the Hopper Minecart. I love just sitting and watching the Mojang team adding random things I would never have thought about and then thinking of the amazing ways that the minecraft users will use the updates. It's endless possibilities in minecraft and adding even more possibilities with each new update. It's amazing.

*return cough* Yes, I was speaking in the context of vanilla though.
*clarification cough* But I could have been clearer I suppose. I know of redpower, FTB and Mindcrack.
In vanilla terms they could totally re-innovate redstone if they allowed wire to be placed on walls and to be able to place torches on the underside of blocks. That is if they don't just whack in redpower alloy wires (which might bug Eloram).
I like it except the quartz pillar acting like a log
Add More things for Map Makers - Please

I hate to speak for others, but I think it's pretty safe to assume that in a topic about an update to Minecraft, he meant he wanted that in Vanilla.
