I was super excited for the enchanted books feature. But, sadly it isn't working as it's supposed to for me. In my main single player world the enchanted books won't let me put multiple enchantments on one tool or armor. I tried it in creative and it works fine but just not in my main Survival world. For example, today I got Fortune III and Efficiency III enchanted books. So I combined a diamond pick and the Fortune III enchantment together in an anvil. It worked perfectly fine. But when I combine the new Fortune III pickaxe with the Efficiency III enchanted book in an anvil, I get the Fortune III pickaxe without Efficiency and I still lose the XP.
I tried combining two low level enchantments to test it out and it worked just how it's supposed to and I have Aqua Affinity I and Protection I helmet from Enchanted books, but it just won't work on Level 30 enchants.
Was this implemented on purpose by Mojang to put a cap on tools and armor so they won't become too overpowered in Survival? I couldn't find any explanations from my research, so can anyone else who is experiencing the same problem give me some advice?

You're definitely putting the Fortune III pickaxe in the left anvil slot, right (I believe that's required)? What does the result show (in the right-most box) before you finalize the combine?
yeah the fire works r awesome its coll that u can make creeper ones but its the 30th of december and what was the christmas surprise it only had present chests (the chests had a new make over so they looked like chests)cool*
I wish they would add more redstone things. I like redstone. and the thorn enchantment is pretty cool...
The next big game version, 1.5.0 (or just 1.5) will be "The Redstone Update", I believe. So it's all about redstone, and I believe there will be some new redstone-related stuffs.
Animals keep glitching in and out of My farm pin that I Have made, is there any possible way that this can be fixed, I really hope someone that can do something about this can fis this problem.Side note... I would also like to see more food types added to the game (just one really but others are nice too) I want to be able to cook and eat eggs by themselves, also a meal made out of several of the other food items would be appriciated.

i luv the fireworks too. a superb addition to the minecraft universe. it wont be long until notch puts in upright pistons for this exact purpose.
Notch is no longer actively coding the game, and pistons can already be placed upright.
