So a super-rich company of a few people has the option of attracting a ton of new people to its flagship PC game via a cheap/free app, or screwing over the only people that would spend $10 on a phone app--likely their own PC customers, and they pick the latter?
@ZephireNZ thx for clearing up the price difference.
@people wanting free... the updates are free for the pc platform but mobile platform itself is a separate platform (development cost and licensing cost) that has to be considered. Also I think there is limitations on how many free copies as developers you can hand out over the app store through a redemption coupon without setting the app to free. It is an hassle and not worth the developers time unless they can recoup the cost.
As for myself I dunno if I will get it or not. Maybe I'll randomly get it but the pc version is more advance and easier to play.
I had the privilege of trying it out, and I must say; it's quite good. Haven't had any crashes, multiplayer is just amazing, and in all actuality, the controls themselves aren't too bad. Worth the price, considering the updates that will inevitably come.
The $9.99 cost is in New Zealand currency. According to Google's converter, that's only about $7.69 in the US!
Also, this means that you can't get the game now unless your account is valid for the New Zealand store. Sorry.
Not really fair android gets it for 6 bucks and we get it for 10! But oh well! I knew Apple is expensive so I saved 10!!! :biggrin.gif: CANT WAIT TILL ITS OUT FOR US!!! WOOOO!
If you want the US Price, it's something more like USD$5-USD$6 for Minecraft Pocket Edition.
I'm in NZ anyway, so ima go get that
Very, very foolish.
