Does anyone else think that mining ores like coal and diamond gives the player too much xp? I am 30 minutes into my game and I am at level 31 already. They should give the player less than half of what they give now. Perhaps only refining ores should give xp? One good cave quest and a player can reach level 40 easily. The xp rewards should be slightly nerfed.
I've only ever played this game single player, and the last time I played, I was using 1.2.5 (I believe so, anyway), so after downloading the 12w24a snapshot, I thought I had noticed some delay/lag when trying to intitially mine a block. After reading all the info here about them changing single player to some sort of innate server, it makes sense. What snapshot changed this? I really don't like it.
I'm assuminmg these changes to the client are to make multiplayer function better? Maybe they could have two versions of the client? One for multiplayer, and one for single player? It's not like the game takes up that much storage space, so having two clients wouldn't be much of a chore (from a user's prospective, not sure about the programmers), and those interested in multiplayer, or singler player, could have their respective playstyle preferences optimized.
I really like this update. The new tp is really good for when you are REALLY far away from a base, no one is at that base, you don't want to lose this mine OR your items, and remember the coordinates correctly! And I guess you want everything done before releasing 1.3! And you want NO bugs to show up! I am very good at finding bugs... I think... I can spot a t-i-n-y bug! Careful!

No. They're making these changes so they can support the game easier.
It will get better. There's a reason why they haven't updated to 1.3 yet, and now we all know it for sure: It's not ready. If you want stable, play 1.2.5. If you want new, play the snapshots. If you want stable and new.... sorry. They don't have that yet
Is single player buggy with anyone else?! When I mine it lags and send me back a block sometimes. Then NPC's jump around, I dont want a creeper to jump right into my face and blow up.
Im getting this to, blocks have to be broken 1.5 to 2 times, break them once and you get the block some times, if you don't get the block wait 2 seconds and the block you just mined will reappear, now you can break it again and get you block....
i had to go back to w24 because of this, the game is simply unplayable
Because it's been a nightmare to maintain. They essentially had 2 games to code, the single player and the multi player.

Exactly. Why Jeb and the guys at Mojang deserve some slack, but at the same time they need our feedback. These snapshots are supposed to be tests, and this new snapshot just doesn't work.

Yea, it felt like it went away after an hour of gameplay. I might of just got used to it but the NPC's still jumped around. Hopefully they fix it in the new update.
haveing problems with single player worlds not working, brakeing items doesnt give me a drop, and animals wont move ... they just stand there as if their stuck also it seems i cant play at all in newly generated single player worls .... was wondering if anyone else is having this problem
I spotted a problem. As you can see, gravel no longer breaks when a torch is under it. The torch shouldn't be able to have gravity effected entities on it.
EDIT: I was able to break the blocks the next time I tried, however, this torch supports it. Therefore, I don't know if it is connected to the ssp lag or is a glitch.

This happens sometimes. If you use a torch to dig out the bottom block in a vertical stack of gravel, or sand, and very quickly place the torch at the bottom, sometimes you do it so fast that the blocks above don't move. I don't know why this happens, and I suppose it is a bug, but nothing that annoying. It's been around for a while, anyway.
i have noticed a generation bug it is easier to explain with pictures but this is the first time i loaded the world please note the biome in the f3 menu of the first two pictures.
also i have been attempting to pause the game using the esc key with the default controls and it doesnt pause or bring up the pause menu.
Yeh sure
It's not as simple as only having one code base to maintain.

I have that bug to, its annoying when the landscaping does that. It blows the mood

why dont you relax and let them fix the bugs first
There is a very fine line between knowing your crap and knowing you're crap.
