I've yet to see anyone with a nether portal. I made one thinking everyone would considering we're giving redstone for no reason. I guess I'm the only one.
Not long ago, we highlighted a Skyblock Challenge - it was deceptively difficult, in many ways; what first seemed like a mere collection of dirt blocks and a chest quickly became an addictive puzzle game, each challenge daring us to complete it. Sure enough, MrsBrisby took that challenge and ran with it! This video is MrsBrisby's completed challenge - everything built was done without Creative mode, editing tools or any outside help. Take a look!
Transdoc: no, 1 is under tree and in the other end.
this guy has just beaten skyblock to an extent of extreme minecrafter survivalist, he deserves a reward, Mojang. this map proves even if you have absolutely nothing but a few items, dirt, and a whole load of Pit of Blue Death, you can make a great hard map.
Oh snap! I was considering making obsidian with the redstone but never even considered a nether portal. But how would you light it beyond a freak thunderstorm occurrence?

I put a piece of wood inside the obsidian generator and poured lava on it. If you do make it, remember that you don't have a diamond pick so you have to lay it out one piece at a time and it has to be the economy version otherwise you won't have enough redstone for it. I made that mistake and had to redo to a certain point that I copied my save file.
On my world I have a 2 level mob grinder, a wheat farm, an automated cacti farm, a reed farm, a forest, a 3 level house, a lab that contains my cobble generator, infinite water source and my nether portal. It's really easy once you get the cobblestone generator down, it gets boring from there.
Just put some torches on top of grass and then sheeps will spawn
HOW DID HE GET THE FLOWERS? HACKS!
