it should be noted though, that the yogs guys were only speculating on what might have been going on with notch.
(and how nice of them to hand him such an easy way out of this mess he's in)
I do wonder how Notch will respond to all of this. #1. With his first comment Notch instigated the battle. Problem was he had not done it in a manner that wasn't very civilized. When Yogscast responded, they had done it in a manner was well thought out and not in rage format. Notch comments pale in comparison.
I have a personal opinion that Notch was in drunken rage mode and had unclear information. If this is the case, then what will be his response? Sadly I think it will be along the lines of most companies: Sorry that you just lost 20% of your subscibers and a lot of fans. I am also sorry that I cannot help remedy the problem, have a day.

Yes, but if I said just Notch then I'm sure it would have been a "Well that proves nothing 'cause he lied anyway! hurr hurr!", when in reality both of them have practically said that it was most likely a misunderstanding.
c: It's kind of sad that people are giving him all the crap when I'm sure he wasn't the one handling all the organization in minecon.

Meanwhile on Notch's Twitter:
"It's likely the entire Yogscast scenario is just stress related misunderstanding. I apologize for bringing it online before talking to them."
Btw, congratulations on the caring & loving community assaulting them on the airport and DD0Sing Yogscasts website. Maybe you should cosider apologizing for that too?
Notch finally apologized did he? I'd still like to hear his explanation of where exactly he got this information about the Yogs behavior if he didn't witness it first hand.
DDoS = Distributed Denial of Service Attack. Large numbers of clients bombard a server with traffic to temporarily shut it down by overwhelming its resources.
I'm not a big fan of a lot of the things that have been done with Minecraft since 1.7 but in fairness I bought it a long time ago on it's merits of the time, and a lot has been added since. I'm not a diehard Yogscast viewer but I do see them as being the go-to youtube channel for all things Minecraft and enjoy their spirit. I was concerned by how the Scrolls issues with Bethesda were handled, sillyness like the Quake offer. I hope this doesn't affect my judgement of the accusations.
I cannot believe that Simon or Lewis are capable of being 'divas', but also don't see why Notch would tweet the more serious accusations without real justification. The only way I can really rationalise it is to assume that the issues were with Yogs that we've never heard of (there's 10 of them after all, not just the 3 presenters).
I think it's important to remember that Notch is not a trained businessman like the CEOs of most companies. He was propelled into the limelight and viewed as almost godlike for giving us a share of his creative imagination. Can we really blame him for making a potential PR mistake when it's not his area of expertise?

granted, minecon organization was not his sole responsibility, its just something that's getting tied up in all of this.
that being said, yes, it is absolutely still a possibility that this WASN'T a misunderstanding, but if both parties SAY it is, then they can kill this fire with vacuum.
if that's their intention, controversy over. but all that means for US is that we'll never know what happened.

How people act upon what Notch says is not on Notch, it is on the person(s) his/her/themselves. Notch shouldn't have to apologize for someone else's dumb behavior when he's already apologized on his part.

Haha, I don't care about what happens as long as they make up XD
I love Yogscast and Notch, both of them making up is great for me. c:

Agreed. There's still a lot of confusion and anger... and it needs to be sorted. Not only because of the continued idiocy of the DDoS attacks on the Yogscast, or the loss of 200,000 subscribers, but for Notch's credibility as well. He has done himself no favours with this display of "How To Not Do PR" and as far as I'm concerned the best thing he can do is come clean and clear everything up and not simply say "I did not lie, it's all just a misunderstanding". Because it isn't just a misunderstanding. This is a misunderstanding which has directly led to the "loving and caring community" committing illegal actions, and the loss of subscribers (and therefore revenue) due to what is currently slander (or would it be libel?).
This would have been better handled behind the scenes, but with both Yognaughts and... whatever Notch's fanboys are called... reacting in the way they are it needs to be cleared up sooner rather than later.
It still doesn't fix the negative PR, 200,000 lost subscriptions and everything else that this whole nonsense has caused, but hey... it's a start.
It doesn't help, of course, that there are more people tweeting nonsense like "Why should you apologize, it won't affect you if you don't" to him.
That's your opinion. I feel sorry you see it that way as Yogscast understood already what Notch was going through and that he's human.
Notch's reply to their statement, I think Notch needs to hire a PR person. lol

So sort it out, Notch. The ball is in your court.
unless he lied, which all rational parties still consider a possibility.
