Let me summarize the 4,000 youtube comments by demographic for you:
Children - **** NOTCH Trolls/Dyslexics - **** YOGSCAST College Goers/Young Adults - Everyone was drunk, who gives a ****? Adults - Very mature/professional reply guys, in the absence of further evidence, I think Notch should apologize. ADD Sufferers - WHERE DID SIMON'S BEARD GO?!
According to the yogscast. Notch just made all this up. Seeing as the Yogscast helped minecraft grow, Notch would have no reason to falsely slander them. After following notch since early alpha, It's clear he doesn't lie. I agree he does have outbursts of rage, but all justified.
The way I see it, Notch has no motive to falsely accuse them. If Yogscast Didn't make Notch look like the bad guy, They'd lose half their Audience. They have everything to lose.
Tell me, Whats more likely. The insulted party lying through their teeth to save their skin, Or a man blatantly attempting to destroy the reputation of a party who's helping him become richer, For kicks?
I'd think, wins this debate.
Unless of course you believe every word from a Business drawing profit from notch's work.

Exactly.
....So what did happen to Simon's beard?
(I jest...)
I'm betting Yogscast probably did say some things they shouldn't have, and parts of the con were badly organized. But keep in mind this was the first time Mojang has run a convention, as well as Yogscasts first panel, so screw-up were to be expected. Mix in lack of sleep and too much partying and its just a recipe for disaster.
Anyone whos been to many cons knows things rarely go smoothly the first time. The adult response is to learn from the mistakes rather than overreact and look for someone else to blame.
Ok folks, the troll has been escorted from the building for a while. Let's get back on topic, shall we? Also, please, calm down with the flaming of either side of this issue. We're simply posting their statements, there's no need to get into flame wars over it.

Those who are attempting to make sense of the madness, I regret to inform you that there will always be those who don't care about anything logical and will simply decide their own opinions based on limited evidence or poor reasoning, and you really can't do anything to change their minds.
I've decidedly lost a lot of respect for Notch in this debacle, and gained more for the Yogscast. Notch accused the yogscast of doing frankly horrible things on his twitter account multiple times, before commenting that he would 'let it slide'.
Yogscast waited until they were home (which is a good thing considering how jetlagged traveling halfway across the world can make a person, as well as it seems Simon is becoming ill) and formulated a deep, thought-out post explaining the situation and expressing that they feel hurt by these accusations.
None of this needed to be publicized in the first place.
EDIT: That said, I'm going to take leave of the topic now. It can only get worse before it gets better, and I shouldn't involve myself in internet arguments in the first place.
Of course the Yogscast explanation is mature and well written to defend their actions. Did anyone expect anything else?
I'm not saying they are lying, I'm saying it can't be used to disprove Mojang's statements. We have two opposing stories, and just because one of them is more mature, it doesn't make it more true.

I agree, flames aside. I wonder what Notch will do when he see's the statement the Yogscast did. It was pretty darn professional.
Now here come all the bandwagoners - now riding in the Yogscast wagon...
I'm a Yogscast fan, and I don't see no bandwagoning here. I only see pure British Comedy, funnier than any American and their stupid poop jokes can do.
Seananners, however, is a bandwagon. His viewers are a bunch of drunken college kids. Bandwagon is when someone follows without good reason. I follow the Yogscast because I think they are funny, not because my friends told me or it's only funny after about a six-pack or so.
i really dont care about this argument. if notch was in the wrong it dosent matter i can forgive him as many times as needed. as for the yogscast well... dont get me wrong i am a fan however if find it disrespectful when they play a map and just cheat the whole way through. i understand that that is what the yogscast do but that dosent make it right. what im saying is if yogscast and notch get into argument i will go with notch even if the argument is against him.
I think it was a misunderstanding. Think about this: Why would Yogscast do what they supposedly did in the first place? Every effect has a cause, so there must be one here, otherwise Notch was dreaming or something. Or.....his twitter got hacked and someone else posted that to make Notch look bad...just an idea
*clap, clap* Agreed. :mellow.gif:
A Yogscast bandwagon? The other news post looked more like multiple Notch bandwagons rode through there.

with all this said
i have to take the side of yogcast
I am pleased to see how the Yogscast responded directly to all of Notch's tweets, and explained each situation maturely.
Exactly.

I just see this as Notch's word vs. The Yogscast's word.

And it seems most of the beta players, Who don't know notch in the least are taking Yog's side.
