Plz? someone tell me why it keeps getting stuck at "updating minecraft" after I install the snapshot everytime.
I am having this issue as well. Reading through this thread, I counted 2 or 3 others that have posted about this as well. Anyone have any guesses about why the game won't start for some of us?

Played with it a bit last night. New world gen in creative. Performance seems more stable unless you turn on a lamp or two. Caves aren't generated AT ALL. You get air pockets 1 block above the surface of any fluid that is generated. Strongholds and mines seem to generate normally. The End is just a 5x5x1 obsidian platform with a dragon flying around. Didn't get into the nether to see if that was messed up too. Couldn;t find any mointain biomes either but that may just be the seed.

I re-downloaded and it started working. My guess is that anyone having it hang on the updating screen has a corrupted version and needs to re-download.

NNnnope, I read on the wiki that they can use the houses you make as long as theres a door, walls, and a roof And its TRUE, I added 2 houses in a village to test and it worked <3
Some new bugs I found. When animals are lit on fire by a flint and steel, they just run in place. Possibly fire some how became soild once an entity runs through it?
Things will start randomly running in circles at times.
I think the path finding system needs to get an adjusted steer handler. So far some mobs can still get stuck on buildings.
Animals will not stand up when right clicked. Done empty handed, and with various items in hand. Even attempted to pour water over them to force them to stand up. Instead they simply get out of it and sit back down.
Skeletons seem to want to stay in place after spotting a player and getting in area where they can attack.
Optimizations are still needed, even more now that the limit has been changed. I'm sure instancing has been done already, but maybe cull anything that is not within view of the camera? Or fix chunk updating, I am trying to figure out what could possibly cause over 60 chunk updates at a time.

Bugs Identified so far in survival mode MULTIPLAYER 12w07b;
BUG: Lighting errors with map generated torches.
Temp Fix: Break and place the torch yourself.
BUG: If you tame a wild ocelot kitten(baby)and log out, when you log back in the kitten will be in a sitting position and you will be unable to right click(order to move,)or hit it with your fists.
Temp Fix: Use a fishing rod on it, specifically the hook, it is the only thing I found that will damge the kitten and get it to move again. (Another possible fix, would be to wait around for it to become fully grown, but I did not test that theory.)
Just logged in after an extended period of time and the bug seems to affect the ocelot at full growth as well. The only thing that will get him to move again is..... you guessed it..... hitting him with a fishing hook............ lol
It's just odd to see I can play Left 4 Dead with 60fps at the highest graphics at 13something x something resolution. Which typically eats up four gigs of ram.
But I can only run minecraft at 12-20fps at normal distance with fancy graphics, with advanced opengl on (supposed to speed things up if your drivers support it). Which reserves 256mbs of ram. I even allocated more to it and the fps didn't change. Changing down to Fast graphics does not change it either.

Hm, ever since i first loaded this new snapshot, My game has been extremely laggy, and I ran this on a portable carry-wherever-you-go copy so I dont mess up my other games.... I cant walk three steps without lagging for a minute or something, this doesnt happen with my other games.
face will be the end of the piston screens! and we will start the imaging system LED.
think of when space will gain from a system of lamps and a screen
Mushroom Biomes don't generate with giant mushrooms =/ I finally find a shroom biome, but when I noticed there was no giant shrooms, I wanted to fall on my knees and quote the old Planet of the Apes
