Thanks for clearing that up!
But one thing, what the post says "a tight set of restrictions placed on what can be added to game code", does that mean people can make mods with only certain things...?
No, code-freeze is NOT related to mods. It's only a developement thing, and what it means is that is a very limited kind of stuff what you can change, mostly oriented to bug-fixing, and not to modding. You can change some things, but you can't really add new ones.
I'm amazed of how much people think that this means there won't be any more updates, but this is just a month, until the game is released, then eventually we'll see new stuffs, after the game is officially released (Nov 18th)
I loved all the monsters. I WANT MORE! lol
But, some people, it sounds like anyway, think this is the end of Minecraft.
Its not.
If i remember correctly, we will still have updates, but this will not be Notch's primary focus.
Heck, he might even have another person take the lead in Minecraft Development.
Think, we don't have lanterns yet. We don't have Prefix Mobs, which i think are said to come in the Minecraft wiki.
Even talking to the villagers, which Jeb wants to add.
I can't wait for all of this, and i hope it continue to go forward.
*Side Note: Its been amazing watching Minecraft grow. I joined before indev was talked about.
Its been amazing watching features come and develop Minecraft into an epic, awesome game!
Thanks Mojang!

"More fun than a barrel of monkeys." Has anyone ever stopped to think how cranky, if not downright vicious, a barrelful of monkeys would be, especially once released from the barrel? -Tom Shales
i loved the pistons and the booster tracks. made everything so much easier to build. i love the enchantment table and the brewing stands. actually i love it all XD. except the new terrain. its blotchy and looks like crap, i'd prefer if it went back to the 1.7 versions or previous terrain gens. now it just looks flat, tree filled or bulky. there's no real borders and it just doesn't look good at all. well most people will just say its awesome cause they will settle for anything or they fear being mocked for having an opinion about the game that's not positive. and even though i do like the way each land biom is generated putting them all separated was not the best choice, and whats up with the splotchy way the sand, dirt, gravel and clay gen under water. it just doesn't seem right to me. well there's everything i liked and disliked about the game.
Kinda wish they added more octaves to the note blocks before they froze (or it's coming in 1.9, but that's probably not happening), but oh well. Gotta work with what we've got. (Pretty much the moral of Minecraft, right there. lol)
It was a really amazing experience having to play this game, even though I joined in Beta 1.7.
This game is all an expert of surprising people with the fantastic updates and prereleases. Still, I would find it pretty downing if I'd had to pay for expansions after the official release of the game. But I would still love Minecraft as how it is.
Bravo to Minecraft and I hope to the best wishes onto the development of the game and great crew.
Mojang, you are the best.
its been good on minecraft... ive been playing since the start of beta but theres just one more thing i would like to be added: The Temple Of Herobrine
But not a scary herobrine like when you get there you get him to survive with you, and give you tips, to find the temple you have to combine the eye of ender with two clay blocks and two wool then you just throw it and you get teleported there and then it makes a portal from where you threw it to the temple
Also please make a way back from the end
BTW the temple should be in the end underground
I've been with minecraft for so long it's hard to say. Id have to say my favorite addition has to be redstone! I miss secret Friday updates as well. Maybe notch can bring them back (even if it was only once a month or added one or two small things to the game...)
Minecraft is definitely one of the best PC games out there, and it's an openish-source indie one, to boot. The best feature in my opinion would be Notches hundreds of additions to the game. I can't wait to see what will come next.

I'm a decent Java programmer learning Python, and I'm skilled with server administration, WorldEdit, redstone circuitry, etc. Feel free to show me mod ideas, I'm thinking about starting to make mods, and I'd be happy to give insight as to how a mod could be implemented in Minecraft.
He's still gonna keep making it. It's just that the release date for mine-craft is somewhere in November right? He wants all current bugs to be debugged, and when he puts it on consoles this will be the version they get. Don't worry!
