My favorite part has been watching the development to see what happens next. The transparency has been quite entertaining.
Ultimately Mojang has pretty much ignored the common definitions of "alpha", "beta" and (most likely) "release" versions of software so I'm curious to see where Minecraft goes.
Ma favorate change was nether and creative mode, but the best update ever would be a version selection screen!! like dis below
MINECRAFT
[Singleplayer]
[Multiplayer]
[Mods and texturepacks]
[Options]
[Version History] --> [<First version>] <all other versions made between these two> [<Last version>]
My favorite addition is glass panels, you don't know how much glass blocks bothered me as a substitute for windows, believe me when i say i appreciate it.
this ride doesn't end to another, but at the same time it does, this ride has had ups and downs, twists and turns, and we are right now, going up a calm hill, and when we finally get to the top, we will see so much more to come,this quiet, and serene journey up to the release, will never be experiential ever again, enjoy it while you can

I don't know what my favorite update has been...probably the lighting engine and nether updates.

Happy I started playing this game cause now it has evolved into a mixed RPG with survival elements.
