I guess Zenimax doesn't remember when Coca Cola sued Pepsi Cola for the use of "Cola" in their title. Coke lost that lawsuit for very similar reasons as the whole "scrolls" debate.
So from what i understand alpha people will get the Xbox game free? Because all future versions of the game could be considered the Xbox version :D. I mean either way I will buy it but still....

Nice reasoning Now, if only Zenimax would read this.....
Dam your people are idiots. For all you blaming Bethesda and saying you are going to boycott. first off, Bethesda are developers owned by zenimax. zenimax are the ones responsible. It is just as stupid as blaming the makers of a gun for shooting people instead of the people doing the shooting> "Curse you heckler and koch, your gun was used by a mad man to kill my dad, I hate you."
Secondly I am sure Notch and Mojang can handle themselves. Now this may be extremely unlickly but just imagine that the boycott actually worked. jobs would be lost. innocent people would have their jobs taken from them because of failed sales just because idiots didn't like what the lawyers did.

First of all, show some respect, if you keep insulting people you will end up reported, warned and then banned, for what? for nothing.
And it is gun makers' fault if people dies because of the weapons, because they make them specifically for that purpose, there is no other use for weapons than causing damage to living creatures. You are a complete ignorant if you compare that with this.

Actually no it isn't the gunsmiths. People choose to kill people. The weapon of choice has nothing with people making the choice to kill. People have been killing each other long before guns were around. Also, there's many other uses for guns other than killing living beings.
As for the lawsuit, you're talking about a AAA developer going up against an Indie developer. Don't be surprised if Mojang loses this one. They shouldn't by logical standpoints but if Zenimax wants to throw their money around, they can brow beat Mojang into submission fairly easily with court costs alone.
I'm not paying a cent for any update. That is really shady and very unbecoming of an indie studio.
If they're going to charge for new content (which won't be surprising), don't expect the updates to be small changes and additions. If they're going to cost money, the new additional content will come in greater bulk than what we see now in updates. They'll most likely be unofficial/official expansion packs and the like. For example, they're working on things like the sky realm. That in itself could be an expansion on the game they could charge money for as it would probably add a great deal to the game.
The reasoning behind the alpha people getting all new content and such for free is they're the reason the game has gotten to where it is now. They invested their money and faith in the game when it was barely a game; back before there was even a company working on it. Just a single guy. Sure it may not seem like a lot but they helped make the game what it is today. Their investment should be rewarded with a much more fierce loyalty from Notch and I'm glad to hear he's upholding his deal with them.
Yeah.. but if Bethesda would want that their lawyers to stop bitchin around because of scrolls... they could have told them that... so... i pissed about Bethesda and will definitly NOT BUY Skyrim... even more.. i may hurt them with giving away some free copy.
If they have no soul.. why should I?
Time to lay some facts down for you.
Bethesda has nothing to do with this lawsuit. Nothing. They're just a developer. The parent company, Zenimax, owns Bethesda and the rights to the The Elder Scrolls franchise. They're the ones suing Mojang. Bethesda just makes the games. They have no legal say in what the parent company does. Boycotting, pirating ect. does nothing but hurt an innocent company (companies really but were talking about Bethesda right now) who is powerless in this lawsuit.
Alright, this sounds like a fair strategy... no one wants a buggy release.
But there are some minimum promised features that need implementing before that Oct. 18th due date. Official modding API, full NPC AI with the planned "quest" system, and smaller stuff to make the world alive (flowers regrowing in rain, active sound loops when appropriate, etc) are things I really kind of expect.
I don't doubt that mojang will deliver, but a smooth-running and incomplete game is just as bad as a complete buggy one.
Would it be totally bad form for the local D.C. Minecraft players to sssshow up in front of Zenimax dresssssed as Creepersss one day? We could sssstand on the main path as people come into work and go 'ssssssssssss'
That's kinda sad....I'm gonna miss you Beta...
I starting to not like them..
Why would they do something that stupid..
Like seriously.

EDIT: I'm probably overreacting, I doubt mojang will pull an "activision".
On topic, people Notch asked us not to blame Bethesda for this, I agree with him. These things happen and will happen again in the corporate world.
