Jeb recently mentioned that 1.8 will most likely not be released on September 8th, to allow time for more thorough testing and quality assurance. Still, there seems to be a careful optimism regarding the release date - while it may not be on the 8th, it will still likely be in the near future.
On a more positive note, the PNG file containing the new food and "experience" effects was released, take a look!
well whatever i would rather them take their sweet little time then rush and update, (Mostly becuase they have to fix bugs and bugs are a bad thing :mellow.gif: ) So yeah might as well wait :smile.gif:.
I kind of figured it would be released so soon, I mean with the amount of content that its bringing it would be ludicrous to expect it to be a quick update. People may ***** and whine but really what do you expect? There was never an official release date for this patch, just estimates.
I don't even see whats so good about the 1.8 update. Its just an update like any old one, WTF happened to 1.7? Everyone was so excited about that! Well, maybe in the first few months of 1.8 it WON'T BE ENOUGH.
The update will still be buggy. I'd rather have 3 patches afterwards than waiting another week for it. The patches will most certainly appear anyways, and they always come out within the first few days. My patience is gone like the sponge block.
Look at it this way. The texturepacks should be coming out realy soon so after 1.8 and there should be some that are complete realy soon after the update. The update is going to be FRIKIN AMAZING so chill. It's coming soon just chill.
Even if it were released with bugs, isn't that what we paid for? Notice the great big "BETA" sign? Yea, that's us at the moment, we paid to play a game in development, which means we paid to test it and we are supposed to expect and look for bugs at the same time as enjoying the game. I don't mind that they want to release it with as few bugs as possible, albeit it makes our jobs harder, but I know a lot of people would prefer it if it wasn't being updated repeatedly for the next week following the initial update.
