So, seeing as 1.7 has become 1.8 except for the pistons, I would think it'd be possibe for them to push it back later, (but maybe add in the new mobs in a small update) and release the full adventure update in 1.9 or 2.0 in November when the game is fully released.
Being able to use both creative and survival mode would be great. Though my server already does that I just love both modes. If I get bored punching trees then i just go over to the creative part and build a massive sprite or statue, and then i get bored of that and go back to punching more trees
why is now almost every post about 1.8 if it even 1.7 isn't out????
The average punter is too dumb to figure out how to use pistons, so they have no care for the update that will bring them in i.e 1.7 .
As stoked as I am for pistons, I can understand why the hoards of 11-13 year olds are less then exited for pistons. They are waiting for Adventure mode so they can mindlessly collect items like it was some watered down diablo clone with building blocks.
Also this news seems confusing and vague.
Hopefully they have Survival, Adventure (A mode that is speculated to be one that "ends" whatever that means) and creative.
I also don't see how adventure mode will work on persistent servers. Sounds awesome for a Hamachi LAN. but in a persistent environment I can see newcomers logging in to an old server to find every bit of adventure has been adveturered out (for lack of a better word). You would find yourself constantly resetting the map every time you "Finnish". So if you are running on a VPS so you can have > 10 players, this would eat your usage like a fat kid does rich rich chocolate cake.
