Thank you, people just dont understand do they?..i was working on my new custom map, i use toomany items, but i cant now,so i just got to be patient and wait to get updated.people need to learn that everything in life is not fair..so things are buggy and glitchy cause of the 1.6, and mods dont work..well you got and unfinished game now wait for things to get fixed and for people that were nice enough to make mods to update them.
NEW BUG:Left some gold ores to smelt over night in furnace. The next day i checked the furnace and i saw only 1 golden ingot. It wasnt 1,there were infinite golden ingots.
Tried to duplicate the bug this fellow encountered by making 16 sand into glass. Damn furnace spat out 1 glass and 15 sand, yet still had 1 sand in the furnace. Got a free glass out of it. Yep, we got ourselves one seriously busted up furnace.
Also, since my guy takes hits now from just loading the game, I went to peaceful mode for now and took off my armor to keep it from being damaged until this is fixed. Haven't seen any monsters thus far so I'm guessing they're still invisible. Yes, a joke.
Has anyone found any tall grass yet? I've been on three of my saves and have yet to find any.....does it take time to grow or do I need to start a new world?
Yes I have, but wasn't interested in it.
PS: Then I was with 1.6.1 now I'm with 1.6.2 and there is no tall grass!
People like you are the reason why things like "Terms of Service" are written. You agreed to exactly what you are getting when you purchased your license to the Beta game. And the reason why only real gamers should be allowed to Beta test.
So real gamers = people who agree with you? Me sharing my honest opinion AND giving feedback on a beta test (which is, you know, the POINT of beta testing in the first place) somehow makes me a fake gamer?
I can't address in-game bugs as of yet, as I've not tried it...but as a server operator with a large server population, I can say that CPU usage on the server is almost 10x higher than it was pre-update. On a sandy-bridge quad core (windows server 2008R2) box, I'm seeing 25% CPU usage with just 2 players connected (when it previously barely even registered with over a dozen players).
I'm sure that will be addressed with a patch soon.
Seriously people! Is it just too much butt hurt for you when Notch is making hard work here for this game and for us to be happy!
We complain because we care.
I hold Minecraft to high standards which Notch and his team have set for themselves. When they don't live up to those standards, it's my honest duty to voice my opinion in a polite and respectful fashion. I'd hardly call that "butthurt."
Why does the server now takes up to 2 times from before of the RAM, like it was before 30 to 60, now it's from 130 to 500?
Also when the server is online I on mine computer am playing Minecraft, while I have skype, hamachi, chatzilla and WLM in the background and the processor goes to 100% because of the server without any mods or something... Talking about 1.6.2.
I think you didn't make it lighter but the opposite.
I made an account on these forums JUST to reply to you. :>
I had the same issues with the server sorta BALLOONING in size, but it's a rather obvious reason.
Turn off the Nether, and everything goes back to normal. Having the Nether active dramatically increases ram usage, so if you're not currently planning on venturing forth in there, turn'er off for now. /no1

But... But... But... I want the Nether because I have never played there, was waiting to go inside there with a friend and start mining there to get materials...
The Nether should be like another map while is inactive not to use any RAM or something, just like in the SP you choose your maps but here it will be choosing between two maps and when you are at the portal to go to the another map.. Althought how is gonna do that when a player is outside the Nether.. That's the question.
Still I'm waiting for a fix on this to play with my friend and mine together, because it's more fun.(And not so scary)
Notch just announced that the CPU-issues have been fixed and is looking at the furnace bug.
"The CPU issue has been resolved.. Looking into furnaces now." http://twitter.com/n...728956964143104
Oh good, hopefully that fixes the biggest problems.

Just re-downloaded the server software, and the problem has not been fixed for me. It still lags horribly.
Well...the bugs would be forgivable it MC was a free game....but since we paid for it with hard money, those annoying bugs, glitches and lags shouldn't happen. It's kinda disappointing.
It'd not be a proper minecraft release without creating more bugs than it fixes. :smile.gif:
Weird glitches happening all the time in singleplayer since 1.6, furnace ejects what I put in them when they feel like it (clever) fake items (client side items I think) when I try to throw something im holding (it doesnt throw it but I see the item fall and cant pick it up). Moar bug fixes please!
Maps (In crafting grid order): Paper, Paper, PaperPaper, Compass, PaperPaper, Paper, PaperTraps: Six wooden planks in a horizontal order (3 in the middle, 3 down)BTW, minecraft_update.jar doesn't work on my Mac for 1.6.2
Yeah but Notch has said one of the changes is:* Seeds are now found in tall grass, using a hoe on the ground no longer worksSo now I'm trying to find some tall grass and I can't find any at all yet.
Um... So how are we suppose to plant the seeds?
Also why I'm getting damage when spawn in my own house?

Well make yourself a hoe and start farming... When you right click where is grassy with a hoe sometimes it gives you seeds.

As Spock would say, your logic is not sound.

Of course those need to be fixed too. :]
It's just I don't even want to try updating my server until the lag issue is solved.
