please Notch, for the love of god, keep the physics from the original, or at least let us continue to launch items like sand, gravel, active TNT, and mobs in the air. also, why not push chests and furnaces, and note blocks? I understand the chest, because some players would try and get three or more chests in a row, creating a messed up GUI, but why don't you just make the chests break instead? seemed to work for the beds in the nether, just less explodey. love the new graphics though, cant wait to edit that for my personal portalcraft texture.

Will pistons shove water? And will the water regenerate if it's in a corner? If so, you could possibly make an automated water farm, and the possibilities of auto-flooding areas increases dramatically over the simple locks system from the video. I wonder if you can shove several blocks of water with one piston the way the glass/wood/glass blocks in the video are pushed.
There is one thing I think the texture of the piston is somewhat incorrect - blocking water. Shouldn't it be sealed to the side so that water would not passed through/destroy the piston?
Fences, doors, and hatches are the same way, aren't they?
Looks great. I loved the original Pistons Mod.I'm disappointed that the player, gravel and sand aren't launched, that is a bit of a downer, but I think he will change that later on as that was the main reason many people used the Pistons Mod.The secret door is amazing and the cobblestone looks better as well :DExcept yes, the blocking water is dodgy, but that's part of the minecraft style, like how ladders blocks water as well. The pistons look different but still good, I think that they should make it so that you can make pistons with stone as the end bit as well as pistons with wood. great advancement.
Am I the only one who noticed that pistons are geometrically...wrong? I mean, the "body" of the piston (the static part) is about 3/4 the width of the block. That means that at maximum, the piston should be able to extend by 3/4 of a block. But instead, it extends by a full block. I mean, I can see how that could be easily coded to work with no issues, I just noticed it nonetheless.
Jeb confirmed for ****ing up 50% possibilities for pistons. No player, sand or gravel launching and no pushable chests, furnaces, workbenchs, noteblocks, and all other objects with tile data.
I agree that they should be able to fling the player. However, in the video he started flipping the switch rapidly, causing the sand to get hit by the piston mid-air, and bounce higher. However, shortly afterwards it stopped and converted to item form. Since humans don't have that problem, pistons can probably launch them higher. How high on the other hand, is another story, and it would require hitting the switch repeatedly. Let's just hope that you can be launched high enough to make them into efficient elevators.
