Why not renovate their farms and construct a large green house? Of course, the glass shall not be green. The villagers would surely try to eat it then! I'm sure they would enjoy the space, and a green house would be a place of relaxation. *Light bulb moment.* Hey! Why not build them a simple park with play toys, and see how their young interact with them. It may open up an opportunity to communicate and would show us how they see fun and what social interactions the young ones have with each other. If you conduct an experiment that includes trading with them, please do realize that all of their offers are complete rip-offs as I have experimented in this area myself. Perhaps a chance to replace their lanterns with glowstone, or better yet, a network of redstone lanterns conected to a central daylight detector!

I'm interested in their reproductive behavior and growth cycle. Separate the males from the females and record their reactions. Place an child in a 1x1x1 cell and note his progress as well.
Attempt a SCIENTIFIC EXPOSITION to the nearest stronghold. See how they react to the end portal, lava, library, etc.

This is awesome, I love it! Nicely written.
Anyhow I think that since the village is walled off you should do a test of their carrying capacity. Set conditions for a high growth rate now that all major threats have been extinguished and see what happens when the population reaches a high density. Will they become more efficient? Fight each other to death for the last carrot? Only time will tell.
Put them in a room where they need to go through a maze to get out.
Could u give the seed of this village?...there is some really nice mountains near the village.
What is the seed for this world ? or does anyone have a good village seed ? its fun to build a large castle around them with lots of doors . then I can watch them thru the windows while they reproduce like rabbits .

Hopefully Sach doesnt mind if I give the seed number. I originally found the seed in 1.7.2, but it should work fine in 1.8 snapshots.
I recently found what I thought was an uninhabited village, but they were all waiting together in the same house and when I walked in they just stopped what they were doing and stared at me. It was like I trespassed on a secret meeting, or occult ceremony...
That is hilarious.
Also, you should test how bouncy villagers are when dropped on slime blocks.
You should try to see how they react to different mobs you put them up against like maybe make several different cages or experiment rooms and and split the room in half with a fence to seperate them from the mob and have a room for every mob and even do a sepert experiment to see how they react to a increased number of mobs
I would like some science...the science of fire! How do these simple creatures react when confronted with, say, lava? How long does it take one to burn? This is, uh, because we need to understand how to protect them. Yes, protect.
What if you put them in a obstical course where they have to outrun two zombies across a lake then run through many many many trees on flat land. Then you release several more zombies, but from behind the villger, and one more villiager, to see if they will work together or if it is every man for themself. Then they get to a area where the ground is enterily on fire except for one straight path leading through this firey plain. Now they must climb up a mountain , which is already mined for a person to be able to jump up and which way without having to mine any blocks. And finally when they climb up to the top of the mountain there is a house but to be able to get to the house they must reach it before more zombies, that you have now real just released from both sides, get to the villager or villagers (there still might be the second villager). Once they get to the house they will open the wooden door and once they race inside they will run across a pressure plate which activate the piston ,that is placed three blocks down in the ground outside in front of the wooden door, that then pushes two pieces of dirt (or whatever block you want to use) up and infront of the door. But will the villager wait for his friend and try to save them both or just run inside and save his own but.
