All four of the Minecraft conventions that have been held so far since 2010 have all been located in the USA (United States of America), and this year's (2015) MineCon is set to be held in London, England. I would like to see MineCon 2016 or another future ceremony held in New Zealand, specifically the city of Christchurch in the South Island. Christchurch has the perfect venue for the convention: the Horncastle Arena, formerly known as the CBS Arena, and before that the Westpac Arena.
The Horncastle Arena is a huge establishment in an easily-accessible area of the city, with multiple "theatres". As MineCon consists of many different activities, I believe that hiring a few of these "theatres" would be perfect for the event.
New Zealand is a beautiful place, with stunning vistas of mountains, forests, rivers and lakes. Within an hour and a half's drive from the city is Hanmer Springs with it's world famous hot springs, Mt Hutt with it's world-class ski resort, Spencer Park which is great for walking, mountain biking, and dog walking. There are bike parks, ice-skating rinks, state-of-the-art theatres, a historic central city with fascinating features such as the Re:START mall: an outdoor mall made up entirely of shipping containers, put together after the tragic 2012 earthquakes. No, don't panic: the earthquakes here are now extremely rare, and when they do hit they are merely harmless tremors. Besides, after the first quake our buildings have all been structurally reinforced: the chances of anything collapsing in a big one are very small.
Christchurch has a lot of accommodation, with 3, 4, and even a couple 5 star hotels and motels, as well as thousands of properties up for cheap rent.
All in all, I believe hosting MineCon 2016 in Christchurch, New Zealand would be a great idea, and would significantly boost players as it would draw more attention from our Kiwi citizens.
I really would like it to be in new Zealand somewhere for a change. The thing is, you never get much of this stuff here, and my dream is to go to minecon, and I don't I'd be allowed to fly to the us or something to see it.
Sorry for the selfishness in what I said. Just things about my dad not letting me fly to Australia to see it if it is there when my mum says yes maybe.

On thing, a ticket there costs quite a lot and it wouldn't be a good business decision on Mojang's part
