I've been thinking about where Minecon should be in 2013... I'm personally from Australia and I'm trying not to be bias but here is where a good place for Minecon to be.
SINGAPORE
Singapore is basically the central hub of Asia, and Minecon 2013 shouldn't be in North America, or Europe, because it's been there and done that. Australia and Asia also have a big Minecraft fan-base, and it is a 7 hour flight from Australia to Singapore, and about the same from Japan. So it would be a perfect location for both the Asian AND Australian Minecraft population. I have been to Singapore and it is a wonderful, vibrant city, and as an added bonus, the main language is english, and around 60% of Minecraft players speak english.
The convention could possibly held at the new establishment called 'Marina Bay Sands' which is a hotel and has function rooms. Those are the reasons why Minecon 2013 should be in Singapore.
Sounds good but how big is the venue? I feel that there may not be enough space for a convention of this size.
Otherwise, sounds like a decent place to go.
