A hostile mob that could be your pet through complicated process:
Once a name tag is placed on them and a Notch Apple is feed to them, they slowly (really slow) change behavior... A trust issue or bonding if you say...(must be 16 block within the mob in order to bond)
Once they trust you it's your pet... But a nether star must be given to the hostile mob in order to fight with you...
They slowly Lvl up and build more skills such as intelligences, strength, and ect., Upgrade them with nether stars and or diamonds,
if killed by other player they slowly wake up (2-5hours)
if killed by other hostile mobs they will die...
Hostile mobs stats: health 2x more, damage resistance 1.5x more, heal them with golden apples (2 hearts each), equipment slots, max lvl. 30
Honestly it's a long shot but I would appreciate if you guy compromise and give this game a bit more doorways to each items and mobs Love yah for this game!

I think this is over complex. Would the mob be attacking you while its mood changes? also, what is the mob? you dot have enough direction with this in my oppinion. The upgrading mechanics are also a bit much.
I feel like this idea would be adding too many new concepts to the game. You've got a level system, an upgrade system, a re incarnation system, some sort of behavioral system. Nothing else in the game acts like that, shouldn't we be able to do that to other animals first?
Once again im asking myself what animal could be this "hostile mob" the name has got to go.
just like turning zombie villager into a villager except its a mob (skeleton, zombies, zombie pig man, baby zombies, spiders, and cave spiders) turning into your tamed warrior
by upgrade I mean their lvl once they cap lvl 1 upgrade them to lvl 2 to gain skills, health, and ect.
its like amor or weapon its possible to upgrade them with experince instead of items
I know that nothing is easy tho but why not start now or small with this
not die but knocked out maybe they wake up to a low health... I could understand what you mean but it's not to much just like when a player die we respond quickly but not the mob a time limit

so it's just a normal monster that's been charmed? No support.
how about keeping it simple, a recipe for a charm potion that has a time limit. You can use it on most mobs (no effect on creepers and the wither) and for the duration of the spell they don't attack you, they do attack othwr hostile mobs.
They dont follow you, allowing you to use the potion as an emergency escape of sorts.

I like your charm potion idea, what ingredients would you need to craft it? Except I think it should work on creepers, I would enjoy watching them run after other hostiles and blowing them up, even blowing up other creepers (see how they like it).

Theres a few reasons I say it shouldn't work on creepers. First of all, I can see people complaining about creepers they've unintentianally charmed running up to mobs that are near: the player, something the player built; and ruining things.
the second reason is more of a scientific reason. We don't truly know what a creeper is, but speculation (some video on this site) is that they are a type of plant. I just invision them as this magical creature that is immune to charm.
I'll go ahead and add, like tame wolves, charmed mobs should not go after creepers.
as for what to make the potion out of? I'm not 100% on all the things that are already used for charm potions, but I would say it should be something not easy to come by. Probably a nether star?
The alternitive would be if there was a potion that made mobs ignor you (like masked your scent or something, maybe just decressed your agro range) the reverse of this would be a potion that incressed your agro range, and could be used (as splash) to cause monsters to attack things that they don't normaly. This in effect would allow you to "charm" all the other monsters in an area to attack one you want dead.

I'd say going through the process of making pets friends are already complicated enough as they need to be.
You have to give cats and dogs what feels like four dozen fish and bones to get them to like you is already complicated enough.
As for hostility, have you ever hit your friends dog by mistake? You can't even tell them to sit down without them attacking you. In fact, they try to even 'hop' at you to attack you while they're sitting down. On a side note that needs to be fixed, because they only solution I've seen is to hit your own dog a few times for him to get the hint to stop I guess.
