It seems a little ridiculous to go so far out of the way to achieve some of the simplest things with redstone circuits. A simple feature can take up so much space that it hinders the ability to design effectively and attractively. It feels like you're always trying to find a work-around, or trying to find a way to cheat the system to get what you're trying to achieve.
For instance, instead of using a minimum of six blocks to build a flashing signal, why don't we have a one block, flashing torch? Why can't there be a simple way to stack a fluid signal vertically?
The few options we have are fine for a number of uses, but imagine what you could accomplish with a full set of redstone components.
