A glitch is a glitch; removing it from one game mode will inevitably remove it from the other. You speak of it like it were a feature that was removed for being too OP...
we need it back...i am tired of mining for tunnels and losing so much due to lava...but with the x-ray method i was able to safely cut around it.
My god.....are you being serious? If you can't play Minecraft the way it was intended then maybe you shouldn't be playing at all. Lava's primary reason for existing is to impede player progress and you want to complain because a glitch was fixed that allowed you to navigate around it? I bet you like participation trophies too.
And if you can't mine without falling into lava then you're a horrible player.

No. There are enough glitches and bugs without old ones being brought back.
While we're at it, should we ask for duplication glitches back so we don't have to mine any more?

There is absolutely no reason to lose anything due to lava without x-raying... just learn how to use a bucket of water effectively and you'll be fine. Besides, the OP was talking specifically about creative mode and you're obviously talking about survival mode.
OP: The only thing people really used the x-ray glitch for in creative mode was to locate things within a world so that they could go directly to them in the same seed in a survival only world. I'll concede that it was a handy cheat... but it was a cheat nevertheless. I'm glad they finanlly fixed it.
The X-Ray glitch was very helpful in finding strongholds and especially mineshafts on survival. It is annoying that they got rid of it. I didn't even consider it a glitch due to the fact that it has been there through numerous updates.
There were far more important things that should have been fixed than that. IE: Why guardians and wet sponges don't spawn in ocean monuments, raising the mob cap, increasing the map size, making sure at least some portion of all biomes spawn on a large map (I don't have the new ice biome on my large map). Just things like that. Not including improvements to multiplayer, which has affected myself and friends negatively a lot.

Ocean monuments were introduced in the same update that broke the X-Ray machine, so that example is a non-sequitur. How could they fix things they didn't yet know were broken? Mob cap and map size, to some extent, are likely limited by hardware. Biome spawning was drastically changed for the worse with this update as well, since we got a bunch of new biomes. In fact, biome spawning is so bad that I get far too many small biomes on most seeds, and not enough large biomes to spawn a reasonable number of villages and temples.
Some of your complaints will be addressed in the next update, which should be out any day now. Don't expect the X-Ray machine to make a comeback though. It was definitely a glitch, and someone over there finally found the time to fix it.
BTW, you can still do X-Ray, just not the way you used to. It's also limited in that you can't look around when you do it, and you can only do it once a day. Do a little digging on Google. You'll find it. Expect this version of the glitch to be fixed eventually too, though.

The game mechanic the developer wants us to use to locate strongholds are Eyes of Ender and people weren't bothering to use it. Everything else is meant to be spotted in the course of normal mining and exploring of caves. To find Mineshafts, listening for lots of spider sounds can also be helpful. This can also help locate dungeons. Again, when the X-ray glitch was in place, people weren't using the game mechanics to locate stuff... they were using the glitch instead... So, from the developer's perspective, it could be considered a "game-breaking" bug.
Fixing the X-ray glitch also paves the way IF the developer ever wants to introduce a legitimate game mechanic that provides the player with an intentional type of x-ray vision (like a Tomb Raider style "survival instincts" or Assassin's Creed style "Eagle Vision").
As for the other things you mentioned... 1) The guardian and sponge issues are being fixed in TU32 (although I don't even think there is an issue with sponges... I've seen lots of ocean monuments with sponge rooms in them.) 2) The mob cap is not a bug, but something the developer has intentionally put in place. You may not like it, but ultimately it is their choice whether or not they succumb to the public pressure and raise it or not. 3) Maps sizes were increased in the Xbox One and PS4 Editiions. Again, you may want even more, but it is their choice whether or not they actually do it... not a bug. 4) Biome spawning issues are also being addressed in TU32.

so true...finding mob spawners now is like winning the lottery 5x in a row...its just not possible.

There are quite a number of people who have posted locations of mob spawners for seeds created in TU31... all found after the X-Ray glitch was fixed... So, the only logical conclusion is that they are definitely not impossible to find and the odds of finding them are definitely immensely better than the odds of winning the lottery 5x in a row.
If he likes duping, or X-raying or any other sort of thing that is a glitch to make the game fun for him doesn't mean he shouldn't be playing it at all. Some people have different tastes, It's just minecraft FFS no idea why you take his post so serious. I just supposed he should get it on PC so he can use mods to have the kind of fun he needs, or wants.

Except he's getting upset because they "took away" his glitch. He's acting as if the glitch was a feature when he readily admits that it wasn't when he calls it a glitch. Had he come here and said "hey, what happened to the x-ray feature?" then he might have some credibility.

Certainly, he can do whatever he likes to have the fun HE wants... but that doesn't mean they should have to leave a glitch in the game if THEY don't want to.
has anyone else noticed that they have removed the x-ray glitch.
Removing it from survival is fine But not CREATIVE.
You're upset because they fixed a glitch? Jesus.
Sounds like a troll to me so don't bother.
