Sooo im sure this has been pressed before but i couldnt find it (maybe that im half asleep)... but what are the chances of us getting mods or mod packs on the minecraft console editions. Im sure we would have to shell out a couple of dollars but it would totally be worth it.

COnsidering W10 update, I think we will have to wait for mods to come out for the "Minecraft Windows 10 Edition" to be working and used on XboxO. when that is done, and mods start rolling out, maybe then, and just then, can we start getting mods for Xbox O Minecraft. Not before, so don't go expecting its a possibility.

Again mods are not allowed on xbox one it's against the terms and service maybe as paid dlc that's the only way

Yet mods will be available on fallout 4? Can you explain the difference between mods from a game like Fallout 4, that is 3rd party software, or Minecraft, that is owned by microsoft? why wouldnt mods on Minecraft Windows 10 edition (when people get to coding some) could not be approved by microsoft and then downloaded the same way the fallout 4 mods would be?
i would expect it do done like dlc where we pay a fee as we have done for everything else. Mod is probally the incorrect term but u get what i mean. Though it would take a deal of extra work on the developers part having something besides the straight vinallia game would be cool.
Oh boy so sick of saying mods are not allowed on console. Look at Unreal Tournament 3 for PS3.... It supports mods, also guys over at The Witcher 3 is thinking bout adding mods. Also in before people try to flame me and before moderators lock this thread.
Mods on the One? That can definitely be a thing. Fallout 4 has it. The main issue with this is that Minecraft is ever receiving updates, do you know how bloody complex officially supporting mods would be in this current development cycle? Imagine someone just made a mod for... say... CU16 ... then CU17 comes out, it's a bug fix, but... wait what!? My portal mod has stopped working all of a sudden!? LET'S BLAME 4JSTUDIOS FOR THIS ISSUE.
Yeah... If you want more input, PM me... I guess?
I agree with this, although most games on the next gen consoles receive frequent updates now. Minecraft doesn't receive too frequent updates either, they dont pop out like crazy, so I doubt that will be too big of an issue. Of course we will get some people mad from time to time, but its the same thing with the PC versions mods, so I dont see why there would be much of an issue. Also, once Minecraft for W10 becomes what is most commonly used (once all devices have W10, so November maybe?) the updates will roll out at probably the same time on PC, Phone and XBO, so the mod issues should be fixed as fast on XBox as they are on PC?
These are simply my assumptions comming from what we are told, and by no means are what will happen for sure btw, I'm just pointing out how I think things should work with all these cool new features.

Well during E3, Microsoft said that their goal was to bring everyone to the C++ version (which is Minecraft Windows 10 Edition). They did mention that it would not change right asway, as they were looking for a way to easily implement mods since mods is a major factor in minecraft, and they also said that they had to bring the version on par with the java version (so in a couple months at least). when that would be done, everything should work perfectly and would work exactly like your 1st option!
For now, the discussion of mods for Minecraft console editions are not allowed to be discussed. When there has been confirmation that mods will come out for Minecraft, our policy may change on the subject.
