Ok, so I've already explored most of my world and then I looked at youtube to see what are the features that will be coming to consoles and I saw a lot and I mean a lot of new biomes and now I'm afraid that when the next update comes out and my world is already explored and I don't want to delete and start a new world because that would be stupid, Is there any chance the worlds will get bigger or infinite like PE and PC or not? Please 4j studios... read this.
And ultimately that's Minecraft's downfall on console for a lot of people, myself included. You pour hours and hours into a world just to find yourself creating a new one for the sake of enjoying everything in the latest update. It's unfortunate that the game is designed to be this way and no matter which way you look at it from, will always be a blunder on the developer's and Microsoft's part.
I'm hoping the people involved with Minecraft's development on these platforms will understand how beneficial it would be to vastly increase world size. We understand it can't be infinite, but it would be nice not having to create a new world after each update as punishment because of my enjoyment of exploration in a sandbox game that encourages it. And therefore when people ask me if it's worthwhile to purchase MC on the 360 or XOne, I tell them to save their money and stay with MC on their PC.
the PE world isnt actually infinite either, yeah I know its claimed but there's still actual technical limits, you could actually keep walking for ever but it would be overwriting chunks doing so, it is very definitely strange however that that wasn't an option for consoles with more processing power. Not that I particularly mind, the world size on the one is plenty for me now, at least with the number of worlds I have anyway!
I know that it isn't infinite on iPhone and even pc, it's actually 30,000,000 x 30,000,000 blocks, it's really irritating when I see Pocket Edition (android iOS...you name it) have that option while the next gen consoles can't have that and 4j studios said in one of their old tweets that it is save size limits by Sony and Microsoft... oh please, i have 1gb sd memory card in my iphone 5s and it can play it in infinite worlds no sweat. it pisses me off real bad it's patheti...really. I'm very disappointed with the next gen versions of minecraft... even the mob cap isn't increased from last gem consoles... WOW....

Eh. Complaining about how much we have. It's the 360 all over again. What we have is plenty enough. They increased the size by how much? And all you can say is it's not enough. You woulnt e happy until it's so big that you're xbox catches fire lol. The phone versions get crappy after Exploring that much of the world.
Try being more conservative with your exploration. I have everything I need using only three maps of my world. To be honest, I'll still probably just make a new world after they add more biomes just so I don't have to worry about the transitions.
I think one thing I'm going to start doing on the X1 is after a major update, like the one we just got, is keep my exploration limited. The original map, and maybe pick a side to wander off on. Sticking to that next map would likely give me enough to explore and do to keep me entertained for a while, then when the next big update falls, I can go to new maps I haven't explored yet. With 25 maps, I could easily limit myself to 5 or 6 maps per update. It would keep my world viable for much longer.
yeah it would indeed if you dont mind dealing with the biome lines where the old and new meet its certainly a viable way to keep using the same world and still get new stuff. just be aware how far you are going if you go exploring caves and your all good
Beleive it or not, the Xbox One is fully capable of having infinite worlds, Notch himself (Before he left) has said that if it was up to him, he would have made the worlds infinite. However, Microsoft and Sony limit the size of the game files, and infinite worlds greatly exceed the save size size restrictions.
It's a shame that MS/ Sony decide how large your MC save file can be instead of the consumer themselves. Some people would prefer not to be treated as a four year old.
The only other thing I can think of is perhaps these new next-gen consoles aren't as cracked up as they're made out to be and really can't handle the load of a few MB save files. I would love to see them reconsider the save size and let people play the game the way they would like to without having to make new worlds upon updates. Certainly works fine with PC, so why fix something that has made it to the top 3rd spot for best selling game. The magnitude of *facepalm* here..
No, not only that the PC has no problems handling it (even weak PC with little HDDs handle infinite worlds) even the smartphones that just have memory sticks in them like iphones, samsung galaxy and even windows phone version that was released recently....can handle them easily....then why the nextgen consoles that have 500GB HDD each and if that is not enough you can stick a 16TB HDD on your xbox one also.
Other games like gta 5 assassins creed unity and a lot more require 50+gb, some like 39gb, 47gb etc... and minecraft only requires 600mb to install on xbox one so why not put infinite worlds, it's kind of pathetic to be honest.
The world size now is fine, but it would be nice if they could find a way to reset sections like you can reset the nether. With 36 maps in one world, being able to reset a number of the map sections would allow people to take advantage of updates without losing their whole world.

You also need to take into account that Minecraft is made of billions of blocks, and 99% of everything in the game can be moved. That's TONS of data to a game to keep track of. Assasins creed, on the other hand, is AI, textures, and collision boxes. Minecraft has got that and tons more.

microsoft woulnt allow a game to take up its entire hard drive. tbh, if you wanted it to take up your entire hard drive any way, you might as well have gotten the game for PC.

It's not their business whether or not I use my Hard Drive, I really hope that they remove this awful restriction.
A lot of people wanted to play Minecraft on console but found out that the worlds are limited, so they have gone to the PC but I can't play on PC, I hate playing on PC : (
sorry for the news.
I mean wow, I've played it on my cousin's Iphone 5S and it can play it at infinite sized worlds.... AN IPHONE...
